Helix Fi 2 - Canaux Wifi
Merci!RésoluMageron22-04-2025Officer93Vues0like3CommentairesGame slow down on Helix Fi - solution.
When playing Call of Duty with a new Helix Fi modem. Things would work but after about half an hour, the game would start lagging until finally it was unplayable - this is still the case as I tested this again yesterday and the problem persists. I could not find any way to set uplink QOS on the Helix Fi so finally I put it in Bridge Mode and connected my own Netgear R6400 router. This worked very well and I do not actually have to set any uplink QOS. My question is why there is there no discussion about gaming issues with the Helix Fi modem/router here on the forum. I could not find any solution or even discussion. I've only found Redit discussions that did not offer solutions. I'm curious why this is not a bigger issue. Are other Helix users gaming - in particular COD - without issues?Résolugreg01-04-2025Initiate69Vues0like1CommentaireHelix Bandwidth Monitoring
Hi, We have just switched to Helix and I find frustrating the fact that the Arris TG4482a they use does not provide any sort of performance monitoring like bandwidth usage in real time or logs that are giving a little bit more than an empty page for the system log for example. Anybody was able to extract bandwidth usage or logs in realtime through UPNP or any other means?RésoluBougePasJteTue26-03-2025Initiate32Vues0like1CommentaireHome telephone via Helix box
The customer service people keep pushing me to switch to the Helix service. Are there any updates on supporting the home phone via the Helix box, or will I still need a separate modem for that? And how is the pricing arranged? I currently have discounts for combined subscriptions to internet, phone and TV.Résoluvlfiausv10-03-2025Initiate27Vues0like1CommentaireAdresse IP
MerciRésoluFlower24-02-2025Initiate95Vues0like2CommentairesCan I manually change DNS configuration on Helix?
Hello, I am looking to manually configure the DNS settings on my Helix router, but this seems to NOT be an option. This is to improve my home network security to point at Canadian Shield DNS servers. Will Videotron provide users with this ability, or will in be forced to find an ISP that allows this? Is this possible? Could we split the coax cable and run it into the gateway and modem and then use the former for the internet and the latter for the TV? I ask because there are some limitations w/ Helix TV that are deal-breakers for me: Inability to record a TV program from when you started to watch it vs when you started recording it The delay between changing the channels I have confirmed that these issues are not present with Bell. Are there other limitations others have come across after using Helix for some time that they had wished they knew about before? It is also disappointing that there are not more apps (E.g. Plex)RésoluMrBill07-10-2024Initiate807Vues0like1CommentaireI found this in the logs of my helix router

Morning, I was wondering how I could change the primary and secondary DNS servers on my Helix Fi via the web gateway (10.0.0.1)? Currently when I go to (Gateway > Connection > Videotron Network) I can see the two DNS servers used, but I cannot edit them.RésoluMarcinRak10-01-2024Chevalier4,2 kVues1like7Commentairesstill can't access bing.com

When access to bing.com doesn't work, it's this bogon ip that is most often the last link in the chain of ips that work. Hello, recently all my emails sent from my home take exactly 6 minutes to reach their destination. It doesn't matter if I use the email client on my PC, my iPad, or even use the Videotron webmail application CourrielWeb, if the email gets sent via my home modem, it gets delayed. If I move to another residence in another town, emails sent out from that location using my iPad or CourrielWeb pass in seconds. My email account has not changed, only the IP address of the modem at the different residence. I read today that greylists are used by some internet service providers to slow down, but not totally block, the transmission of emails originating from a source that is under suspicion, but not blacklisted. Being on an ISP's greylist is reported to cause a fixed transmission delay between 5 and 15 minutes, so it is not surprising that my delays are always exactly 6 minutes. No one at Videotron support has been able to explain my 6 minute delay, only that a delay of 6 minutes is not unacceptable in a world where email transmission times can vary according to many factors. So have you ever experienced email transmission symptoms similar to being on a greylist, and if so, how did you resolve your problem? Thanks for any comments.Résolukirklanduser13-10-2023Chevalier3,3 kVues0like2CommentairesNew ipv4 address
