Really bad ping to Mihoyo Game servers
My ping to Mihoyo (Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero) servers went from 30ms to 120-150ms since 1 month ago. My friends who are with another provider have no problems. I already restarted the modem/router and it did not fix the problem. Using a VPN fix the routing issue but this is not a solution. From what I've seen from other Videotron users, I am not the only one with the same problem. I messaged support on Twitter and they said not our problem and closed the ticket. If the problem is not on their side then why does the other ISP have no issues. This had been going on for a month!
Can I manually change DNS configuration on Helix?
Hello, I am looking to manually configure the DNS settings on my Helix router, but this seems to NOT be an option. This is to improve my home network security to point at Canadian Shield DNS servers. Will Videotron provide users with this ability, or will in be forced to find an ISP that allows this? Kindest regards, TheMacAllyn

Foe several weeks I've been unable to login to my helix account. Different browsers, clear cache, mobile site, etc....nothing works. I can access my customer center for my mobile account, though. This message appears everytime. "Unexpected error when handling authentication request to identity provider."helix force us to use an app and posses an smart phone be connected to internet to configure router
I don't want to be forced to use the app. I don't want to be forced to possess an smart phone. I want to regain full control over what I own offline, locally from my computer. that used to be the case and you remotly updated my device to block me and force me to use a app that need an internet connection. Please give us a way to fully control our device locally wihtout internet or you are facing legal issue we will collectivly pursue you.
IP already reserve for a different device
I have a device that require to always have the same IP, as such I did a reservation but I ended up reserving the IP for the wrong device by mistake. I removed the other device reserved IP and putting it back in DHCP mode but now I can't assign the reserve IP to my device as it keep saying that this IP is already reserved for another device. I have a lease time of 8 hours and it's been over 48h since the mistake. I can't find anywhere else to release this reserved IP.
Forwarding ports in Helix Fi app not actually forwarding them
Hello, I've used my Helix Fi app to forward ports. For some reason, some ports do open and others don't. I.e. on the same device, I have 9443 open (and showing as such on various online tools) but then 443, 80, 82 and 8221 are marked as open by Helix Fi, but the same online tools are showing them as closed. Any reason why? I've looked online and haven't seen a mention of Vidéotron blocking those specific ports. Thank you
Port Fowarding via Helix FI App
So I followed this... https://www.videotron.com/en/support/applications/mobile/helix-fi/port-forwarding but I have "No Associated Device" listed in port forwarding and "delete this port forward" button does not work. I tried waiting 5 minutes. https://imgur.com/a/U0y8csM If I completely reset my router are all port-forwards removed? I greatly enjoy this service but I can't be stuck with a configuration I setup 5 years ago. I need to be able to change this configuration. Thank you for your time and assistance.
Helix pods as wireless access points
Hello, I have the Helix internet with Videotron, and have the router (white model) and 2 Helix Pods (newer model). My house is wired with a switch and has ethernet jacks in most rooms, however, the router is in the basement and wifi does not extend to the rest of the house. All my wired devices are connected via the switch and ethernet jacks, but I'm trying to extend the wifi in my house. I'm using the wifi pods connected (wired) to the router via the switch and ethernet cords, so basically using the wifi pods as a wireless access point. I've read that this is unsupported, but it does actually work. From time to time. Today, everything stopped working. Luckily, restarting the gateway and unplugging/replugging the pods seemed to do the trick. My question is: - If this is going to stop working over and over, should I just purchase 2 wireless access points instead of using the helix pods in a way not intended? If so, what would you recommend as wireless access points? I'm hoping that the functionality would be the same as with the helix pods, that is to say that the devices can connect to the wifi network automatically, without switching names etc. Do wireless access points require a different name and therefore the device to switch wifi networks depending on what room I'm in? Thank you for clarifying all of this. (By the way, for me to put enough helix pods to reach the upstairs would require me to have a total of 4 to 5 of them so that's not ideal)Phone not compatable with service plan!
Two months ago on the advice of a Videotron technician I replaced my Bell landline phone with a TCLFlip phone purchased from Videotron for calling and perhaps texting. Two months later the phone would no longer connect to Videotron's telephone network and I was directed to get a Motorola moto g play. I agreed to pay the phone setup fee again and was told the phone replacement was free. On receiving my bill it turns out that I am indeed paying for the phone replacement with a 2 year rental charge. So basically Videotron sold me a phone that was only useable for 2 months! On reporting the issue I was told by customer service that she could do nothing because of no records even though conversations are recorded? So although I followed the advice of both Videotron technical and customers service at each stage in the process I ended up paying for a phone that only worked for 2 months.Helix with Wired-Only setup, or how to turn off WiFi
A friend of mine just got off the phone with Videotron for Internet service but has yet to go with them until the below can be confirmed. They only want wired Internet services (Internet-supplying coax and the ability to use RJ-45 ethernet). That means no WiFi RF transmission whatsoever from the Helix box. Most routers typically have this ability to shut off WiFi transmission. My questions are the following: - can advanced settings on the Helix box be accessed directly via web browser, as with other routers? - can all WiFi transmission (e.g. 2.5 and 5 GHz) be turned off through this web interface? - will the "WiFi Off" state persist through Helix reboots? - how many ethernet ports are there on the Helix box? Appreciate any confirmation.How can I switch to Videotron without interruption from current provider
My current internet provider is a reseller using the Videotron infrastructure. Service has been deteriorating in the last couple of months so I'd like to switch to Videotron, but I work from home and can't afford to have any interruption of service. If I subscribe to Videotron, will they take care of cancelling the other service or do I need to cancel before I make the call to Videotron?How to avoid service interruption when switching to Videotron
I'm currently using another company for my internet service. They are a reseller of the Videotron cable internet service. I would like to know if I need to cancel my service with the other company before signing up with Videotron or will Videotron automatically cancel the other service? I work from home so can't afford to have any interruption in service.
