Looking to move to Helix but want to keep using our own router
Hi! I've seen some similar discussions as this one but that are a bit older. Also, first time posting:) We are looking to move to Helix and we would have one terminal to be used with our TV, which is not a smart tv:) However, for the wifi, I want to keep our own router. What options do we have? I read some info on videotron.com about enabling bridge mode on the gateway but this disables wifi. At the same time, I'm assuming that the tv terminal can only work with the gateway. Does this mean that the only option would be to connect the tv terminal with a network cable? Or is there another option. I would like to keep things as is with our own router. Found some info on the internet about issues with double NAT and having to remove DHCP from your own router, which is not an option:) Thank you very much!notastechasb403-12-2025Initiate20Vues0like0CommentaireAutomation Isn’t Impossible—Even on Platforms Like Salesforce
Hello, EZPassMA I recently spoke with a company evaluating QA solutions for their Salesforce-based SaaS product. When I mentioned automation, they replied with something I’ve heard many times before: “We’re avoiding automation because Salesforce uses dynamic IDs—so it’s basically impossible.” That statement really resonated with me, because I’ve seen the opposite firsthand. Salesforce automation isn’t effortless, but it’s far from unachievable. I’ve managed a long-term Salesforce automation initiative using TestComplete, and while it definitely required a thoughtful approach, a solid framework made the entire process stable and repeatable. Salesforce isn’t unique in this regard. Many large, customizable SaaS platforms get labeled as “too complex” to automate—whether due to shifting DOM structures, dynamic attributes, evolving UIs, or deeply layered components. These challenges can make automation feel overwhelming if you approach it with simple record-and-playback tools or without the right strategy. But with the right patterns—robust locators, smart abstraction, component-based frameworks, and proactive maintenance—even the most complicated cloud platforms can be automated reliably. Not easy, but absolutely possible.jack064walker24-11-2025Initiate25Vues0like0CommentaireVideotron cause Disconnect in League of Legends only?

Hi everyone, With more people switching to VoIP and internet-based telephony, I’m curious how much customization you do with your service. For example, do you use personalized ringtones (klingeltone) for different contacts or situations, or do you stick with the standard tones provided by default? It seems like such a small feature, but in practice, having custom sounds can make internet telephony feel more personal and even more efficient. I’d love to hear how others here approach this—do you think it’s just a fun extra, or actually an important part of the user experience?avankita29-08-2025Initiate86Vues0like2CommentairesIs Telephony Moving Fully Online?
With fiber internet and new tools like chatgpt online, the way we communicate is changing fast. Many people now prefer Wi-Fi calling or app-based solutions instead of traditional phone lines. Do you think internet telephony will soon replace classic services completely?Beatrice25-08-2025Initiate85Vues0like2CommentairesHelix pod vs other brand access-point
Hello, I have Helix internet with 2 helix pods already, set up to run as access points. (Gateway -> switch -> wired connection to pods) I know the support for this configuration is iffy, and I've had issues in the past, but now seems to be working fine. My question is: I would like to add another pod to act as access point - would it be preferable to try my luck with another helix pod or use another brand access-point? If I use another brand , like ubiquiti, would it act in the same way as the helix pods? Ie. same SSID network name and the devices will automatically switch to the strongest network? I would ideally like one with 2 ports, like the helix, otherwise I'll need to buy a small switch as well. Any recommendations for access point if not going with helix? My hesitation with the helix pods is simply due to price, and the fact that previously, had a lot of trouble getting it to work in this way (however, the other 2 helix pods I have are currently working correctly as access points). Thanks!mikeypas18-08-2025Disciple74Vues0like1CommentaireKids can bypass helix wifi lockout by forgetting then reconnecting to network.
Hello, I’m having an issue where if I pause internet to a particular child’s device (iOS, PC, etc), they have figured out a way to simply sign on again as a new device. In assuming it’s by forgetting the wifi network then reconnecting. Is there a way I can prevent this from happening? What is the point of having this feature if it can be so easily bypassed?DannyITR03-08-2025Initiate186Vues0like1CommentaireImproving VoIP Stability While Traveling – Stag VPN Experience
<p>Hey everyone,</p> <p> I wanted to share a quick tip for those who rely on VoIP or internet calling services while traveling or working remotely. I've been using <strong>Stag VPN</strong> recently to stabilize my internet connection during calls, especially over public or shared networks. </p> <p> Before using it, I often had call drops or jitter issues with my internet telephony setup. But with Stag VPN, the connection feels more stable and secure. It routes traffic efficiently and helps avoid ISP throttling or region-based disruptions. </p> <p> Anyone else here tried using a VPN for internet calling? Would love to hear your experience or other recommendations! </p> <p><strong>Tags:</strong> <em>#VoIP</em>, <em>#VPN</em>, <em>#StagVPN</em>, <em>#InternetCalling</em>, <em>#RemoteWork</em></p>auroralane775421-07-2025Initiate74Vues0like1Commentairestruck a chord
Hello, I recently had a conversation with a company evaluating QA options for their Salesforce-based SaaS platform. When I brought up automation, they said: “We decided not to consider automation Salesforce uses dynamic IDs and it's impossible to automate.” That response struck a chord with me. In my experience, automation is absolutely possible; challenging, yes, but far from impossible. I've led a long-term Salesforce automation project using TestComplete, and while it’s not plug-and-play, a well-structured framework can make it work reliably. That said, Salesforce isn't the only platform that gets labeled “too hard” to automate. I've heard similar concerns about other complex SaaS applications; where dynamic elements, complex DOMs, and frequent UI changes can make test automation feel like a losing battle. Hey everyone, I’ve been reading a lot about alternative income streams lately, especially ones that aren’t solely dependent on traditional jobs or 9-5 gigs. With the way internet services are evolving and remote work becoming more common, I’m curious how some of you are leveraging your online presence or tech skills to earn a bit extra. Are people still seeing good results with affiliate marketing or dropshipping? What about digital investments or online consulting? I know some of these options rely heavily on having stable internet, so I’d love to hear how you're balancing that with your home setup. Also, are there any platforms or strategies you’ve found to be surprisingly effective in Canada lately?
Bonjour à tous, I'm looking for some advice and shared experiences from the Videotron community regarding Wi-Fi performance, especially for those using the Helix Fi gateway (modem/router combo) in a multi-story home or a larger living space. We recently upgraded to Helix Internet and are using the Helix Fi gateway, but I'm finding that the Wi-Fi coverage and stability can be inconsistent, particularly on different floors and in areas further from the gateway. We experience slow speeds, buffering, and sometimes even drops in connection for devices not in the immediate vicinity of the main router. I'd like to optimize our setup to get the best possible Wi-Fi performance throughout our home. Specifically, I have a few questions: Ideal Gateway Placement: For those with multi-story homes, where have you found the Helix Fi gateway to perform best? Is a central location on the main floor generally sufficient, or have you had better luck placing it higher up (e.g., on the second floor)? Are there any specific tips or common pitfalls to avoid regarding placement (e.g., away from certain appliances, thick walls)? Using Wi-Fi Pods (Extenders): What are your experiences with the Helix Fi Wi-Fi Pods? How many did you need for your home size, and did they significantly improve coverage and speed in dead zones? Are there specific placement strategies for the pods that yield better results? dog language translator app Third-Party Mesh Systems vs. Helix Fi Pods: Has anyone opted to use a third-party mesh Wi-Fi system (e.g., Google Nest Wifi, Eero, TP-Link Deco) with their Helix Fi gateway? If so, what was your setup process like (e.g., putting Helix Fi in bridge mode), and did you find the performance superior to using Helix Fi Pods? Are there any known compatibility issues or advanced configurations to be aware of? Channel Optimization: Does the Helix Fi gateway automatically manage Wi-Fi channels effectively, or have you found it beneficial to manually select less congested channels (if that option is available)? General Troubleshooting Tips: Beyond placement and pods, are there any other "hidden gem" tips or advanced settings within the Helix Fi app or gateway interface that can help improve Wi-Fi stability and speed? Any detailed advice, personal anecdotes, or technical insights would be greatly appreciated as we aim for a more robust and reliable home Wi-Fi experience. Merci d'avance pour votre aide!Lillian826Pena21-05-2025Initiate188Vues0like0Commentaire
