I'm hoping that someone can help me find a solution to my problem. A little context: I've been with Vidéotron for over 20 years, prior to moving to their Helix service I had their legacy Hybrid Fibre Internet and never had a problem. I was using my own routers and everything was working well. When the technician installed my Helix gateway I asked him to set it up in bridge mode since I wanted to keep using my routers. After the installation everything seemed to be fine for a couple of days; then the problems started. The internet would go down so I'd check the gateway to find that the light was red. I would unplug it, plug it back in and the internet connection would come back. This lasted another few days and it would go down again. Some days I would have to reset it 4-5 times. I called customer support and they told me the problem was on my end since the gateway was in bridge mode. I explained that my setup had not changed, save for the new gateway, and I had no issues with the previous modem. They explained that it was different since Helix combines the modem and the router and offered no real help. After several months of dealing with this very annoying inconvenience I decided to reset the Helix gateway to it's factory settings and only use that for my home network. After setting up everything the issue started happening again. This time I knew that it wasn't because of my routers so I started eliminating other devices. I determined that the problem was caused by my Synology NAS. This is actually a "faux" Synology NAS, meaning that I'm using open source software called Xpenology to run the Synology DSM software on a regular computer. So, whenever I plug my NAS into the network it crashes the Helix gateway. Sometimes it's almost immediate whereas some other times it can stay up for an hour or so. I've played around with different settings on the NAS and turned off most of the services but that didn't resolve the issue. What I tried today and what seems to be working so far, is leaving the gateway field blank in the NAS network settings so that I can still access it locally but it can't reach out to the internet. I apologize for the very long post and if you've made it this far I want to thank you for reading this. Does anyone have any suggestions? PS. I hooked up my NAS to my dad's Helix gateway and it ran fine for about 10-15 minutes. I realize now that I should have left it connected for at least a few hours.electro90719-01-2026Initiate60Vues0like2CommentairesAdresse IP
Estimating insulation work can be challenging, especially when drawings don’t clearly show thickness, coverage areas, or material types. Missing small details in plans often leads to incorrect quantities, budget overruns, or performance issues later in the project. I’m curious how others ensure insulation estimates stay accurate from the planning stage. Many professionals rely on insulation estimating services in USA to convert drawings into detailed takeoffs and precise cost breakdowns for thermal and acoustic insulation systems. These services help identify overlooked areas early and improve confidence in project budgets. Have you used professional insulation estimating services before? I’d like to hear how they affected estimate accuracy and overall project execution.junipereva19-12-2025Initiate40Vues0like0Commentairemonitoring Bandwidth usage of devices
Hi all, I am totally new to Videotron home internet and i am so far so happy with it, specially the speed! my service was installed yesterday morning, today i checked the usage at 7 am in the mobile app and it says 10 GB of download (!) which 5 of it was between midnight and 4am which doesn't seem right as long as i didn't run any updates or ... during the night. I just want to know if there is any way i make sure what was that weird internet usage about? maybe a trick that i can monitor all of my devices' bandwidth usage? regards soheilRésolusoheil-hd16-12-2025Initiate8,5 kVues0like5CommentairesLooking to move to Helix but want to keep using our own router
Hi! I've seen some similar discussions as this one but that are a bit older. Also, first time posting:) We are looking to move to Helix and we would have one terminal to be used with our TV, which is not a smart tv:) However, for the wifi, I want to keep our own router. What options do we have? I read some info on videotron.com about enabling bridge mode on the gateway but this disables wifi. At the same time, I'm assuming that the tv terminal can only work with the gateway. Does this mean that the only option would be to connect the tv terminal with a network cable? Or is there another option. I would like to keep things as is with our own router. Found some info on the internet about issues with double NAT and having to remove DHCP from your own router, which is not an option:) Thank you very much!notastechasb415-12-2025Initiate205Vues0like1CommentaireGame slow down on Helix Fi - solution.
When playing Call of Duty with a new Helix Fi modem. Things would work but after about half an hour, the game would start lagging until finally it was unplayable - this is still the case as I tested this again yesterday and the problem persists. I could not find any way to set uplink QOS on the Helix Fi so finally I put it in Bridge Mode and connected my own Netgear R6400 router. This worked very well and I do not actually have to set any uplink QOS. My question is why there is there no discussion about gaming issues with the Helix Fi modem/router here on the forum. I could not find any solution or even discussion. I've only found Redit discussions that did not offer solutions. I'm curious why this is not a bigger issue. Are other Helix users gaming - in particular COD - without issues?Résolugreg11-12-2025Initiate551Vues0like2CommentairesVideotron cause Disconnect in League of Legends only?
Has anyone been disconnecting randomly while playing League of Legends? I sometimes disconnect for like 5-10s randomly and it happens only in LoL? Hello, EZPassMA I recently spoke with a company evaluating QA solutions for their Salesforce-based SaaS product. When I mentioned automation, they replied with something I’ve heard many times before: “We’re avoiding automation because Salesforce uses dynamic IDs—so it’s basically impossible.” That statement really resonated with me, because I’ve seen the opposite firsthand. Salesforce automation isn’t effortless, but it’s far from unachievable. I’ve managed a long-term Salesforce automation initiative using TestComplete, and while it definitely required a thoughtful approach, a solid framework made the entire process stable and repeatable. Salesforce isn’t unique in this regard. Many large, customizable SaaS platforms get labeled as “too complex” to automate—whether due to shifting DOM structures, dynamic attributes, evolving UIs, or deeply layered components. These challenges can make automation feel overwhelming if you approach it with simple record-and-playback tools or without the right strategy. But with the right patterns—robust locators, smart abstraction, component-based frameworks, and proactive maintenance—even the most complicated cloud platforms can be automated reliably. Not easy, but absolutely possible.jack064walker24-11-2025Initiate34Vues0like0CommentaireIs Telephony Moving Fully Online?

CRITICAL: Network Signaling Issue Preventing Android Security Updates (Re: CVE-2025-48593 & S25/S20 FE) Hello, I am writing to inquire about the planned deployment timeline for the most recent Android Security Bulletin, dated November 1, 2025, and to report a severe, reproducible issue that appears to be preventing prompt security updates for Samsung devices on the Videotron network. My devices' security patch levels are significantly behind, which is unacceptable given the critical nature of the fixes included in monthly updates. I am specifically looking for information regarding the patch that includes the fix for the vulnerability identified as CVE-2025-48593. While the CVE status is currently Reserved on cve.org, its inclusion in the official bulletin emphasizes the need for a prompt update. For reference, the official sources for this update are: Google Android Security Bulletin - November 1, 2025: https://source.android.com/docs/security/bulletin/2025-11-01 CVE Record for CVE-2025-48593: https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2025-48593 My Observations & Urgent Questions I have two Samsung devices exhibiting the same strange behavior, confirming a likely issue with the Videotron network: Device 1 (Samsung S20 FE): This device is currently stuck on the July 1, 2025 security patch. The industry standard is that the October 1st patch has already been released for this model. Device 2 (Samsung S25 Flagship): This newer, monthly-supported device was also stuck on the July 1, 2025 security patch. It only found and installed the October 1, 2025 patch after I manually removed Videotron as the network carrier in the phone's settings and then added it back. Based on this testing, I have two critical questions for the Videotron team: When is Videotron planning to roll out the November 1, 2025, security patch to its flagship devices? A four-month security gap is a serious security failure, and a clear, confirmed deployment date is required. Is there a known, systemic issue with how Videotron's network is signaling the latest available security patch to Samsung Android devices? Since two separate phones only received the available update after the network connection was forcibly reset (by removing/re-adding the carrier), this strongly suggests that the automatic, over-the-air (OTA) check triggered by the network is failing to register the update's availability. This affects all users who are simply waiting for the update notification. I urge the Videotron technical team to investigate this network-level signaling problem immediately. Thank you for your urgent attention to the security of your customers' devices. Thank you.Résolundjemhi09-11-2025Initiate101Vues0like1CommentaireScam Invoicing practice
Videotron uses a scam invoicing practice. For the past several months I have been renegotiating my package with the customer satisfaction department. I negotiated a FIXED price for 6 months but when I received my new invoice it was $30 higher than my negotiated price. The new customer sat rep I talked to kept saying that this is your current price. I had enough of the B.S. I was being given and asked to talk to his manager. After putting me on hold for 15 minutes the Rep offered me a One Time credit of $90 (which was 15$ x6 months). I told him that wasn't enough since it's only have of what I was promised. My previous months billing actually shows the correct amount. The rep tried to make me believe that the previous month invoice was incorrect and said that an amount was added to the new invoice, BTW that' s against the law. They also refused to send me any email confirming what the 90$ discount is for and why. ( they are trying to protect their asses after finding out their trying to screw me.) They also refused to send me my negotiated contract info. which is also against the law. Guess I have to contact the Consumer Protection Board and put in a formal complaint.patzeus31-10-2025Initiate2,4 kVues0like3Commentaires
