Automation Isn’t Impossible—Even on Platforms Like Salesforce
Hello, EZPassMA I recently spoke with a company evaluating QA solutions for their Salesforce-based SaaS product. When I mentioned automation, they replied with something I’ve heard many times before: “We’re avoiding automation because Salesforce uses dynamic IDs—so it’s basically impossible.” That statement really resonated with me, because I’ve seen the opposite firsthand. Salesforce automation isn’t effortless, but it’s far from unachievable. I’ve managed a long-term Salesforce automation initiative using TestComplete, and while it definitely required a thoughtful approach, a solid framework made the entire process stable and repeatable. Salesforce isn’t unique in this regard. Many large, customizable SaaS platforms get labeled as “too complex” to automate—whether due to shifting DOM structures, dynamic attributes, evolving UIs, or deeply layered components. These challenges can make automation feel overwhelming if you approach it with simple record-and-playback tools or without the right strategy. But with the right patterns—robust locators, smart abstraction, component-based frameworks, and proactive maintenance—even the most complicated cloud platforms can be automated reliably. Not easy, but absolutely possible.
Scam Invoicing practice
Videotron uses a scam invoicing practice. For the past several months I have been renegotiating my package with the customer satisfaction department. I negotiated a FIXED price for 6 months but when I received my new invoice it was $30 higher than my negotiated price. The new customer sat rep I talked to kept saying that this is your current price. I had enough of the B.S. I was being given and asked to talk to his manager. After putting me on hold for 15 minutes the Rep offered me a One Time credit of $90 (which was 15$ x6 months). I told him that wasn't enough since it's only have of what I was promised. My previous months billing actually shows the correct amount. The rep tried to make me believe that the previous month invoice was incorrect and said that an amount was added to the new invoice, BTW that' s against the law. They also refused to send me any email confirming what the 90$ discount is for and why. ( they are trying to protect their asses after finding out their trying to screw me.) They also refused to send me my negotiated contract info. which is also against the law. Guess I have to contact the Consumer Protection Board and put in a formal complaint.

Synology NAS crashes my Helix gateway
I'm hoping that someone can help me find a solution to my problem. A little context: I've been with Vidéotron for over 20 years, prior to moving to their Helix service I had their legacy Hybrid Fibre Internet and never had a problem. I was using my own routers and everything was working well. When the technician installed my Helix gateway I asked him to set it up in bridge mode since I wanted to keep using my routers. After the installation everything seemed to be fine for a couple of days; then the problems started. The internet would go down so I'd check the gateway to find that the light was red. I would unplug it, plug it back in and the internet connection would come back. This lasted another few days and it would go down again. Some days I would have to reset it 4-5 times. I called customer support and they told me the problem was on my end since the gateway was in bridge mode. I explained that my setup had not changed, save for the new gateway, and I had no issues with the previous modem. They explained that it was different since Helix combines the modem and the router and offered no real help. After several months of dealing with this very annoying inconvenience I decided to reset the Helix gateway to it's factory settings and only use that for my home network. After setting up everything the issue started happening again. This time I knew that it wasn't because of my routers so I started eliminating other devices. I determined that the problem was caused by my Synology NAS. This is actually a "faux" Synology NAS, meaning that I'm using open source software called Xpenology to run the Synology DSM software on a regular computer. So, whenever I plug my NAS into the network it crashes the Helix gateway. Sometimes it's almost immediate whereas some other times it can stay up for an hour or so. I've played around with different settings on the NAS and turned off most of the services but that didn't resolve the issue. What I tried today and what seems to be working so far, is leaving the gateway field blank in the NAS network settings so that I can still access it locally but it can't reach out to the internet. I apologize for the very long post and if you've made it this far I want to thank you for reading this. Does anyone have any suggestions? PS. I hooked up my NAS to my dad's Helix gateway and it ran fine for about 10-15 minutes. I realize now that I should have left it connected for at least a few hours.Looking to move to Helix but want to keep using our own router
Hi! I've seen some similar discussions as this one but that are a bit older. Also, first time posting:) We are looking to move to Helix and we would have one terminal to be used with our TV, which is not a smart tv:) However, for the wifi, I want to keep our own router. What options do we have? I read some info on videotron.com about enabling bridge mode on the gateway but this disables wifi. At the same time, I'm assuming that the tv terminal can only work with the gateway. Does this mean that the only option would be to connect the tv terminal with a network cable? Or is there another option. I would like to keep things as is with our own router. Found some info on the internet about issues with double NAT and having to remove DHCP from your own router, which is not an option:) Thank you very much!Microsoft January 2026 updates cause problems for Classic Outlook email clients
Hello Can anyone tell me if this previous thread/topic is still being discussed. I can't seem to access it. Getting access denied. Either it's gone or for some reason I don't have the permission to view it. I am dealing with this issue currently where my two email accounts seem to timeout and I get an error synchroniztion message on my PC and laptop though at times it goes through. If you hit send & receive repeatedly you will get some success. What is the latest on this? Thank you.
Videotron sent my file to collections. I have never missed a payment/bill in my life!
I received a letter yesterday from a collection’s agency called GCQ that I owe Videotron 129 dollars and haven't made a payment since Nov 2020. This is entirely absurd and unacceptable. Videotron never sent me any bill or a notice and directly sent my file to collections. Who does that?! At least send me a notice first! After talking to two reps and spending an hour of my workday trying to explain the situation to them, they told me that this happened due to a system error on their part when I converted my regular account to HELIX. Apparently, they forgot to update the add-ons and make adjustments and I actually don't owe them anything. They got in touch with the collections company and have closed my file. But, if this affects my credit negatively in any way, I will take a legal action against the company. Furthermore, receiving a collections letter is insulting and unacceptable where I come from. I have never missed a bill payment in my life and have a good credit history. This is harassment! I demand a written apology and compensation for wasting my time and causing stress.
helix force us to use an app and posses an smart phone be connected to internet to configure router
I don't want to be forced to use the app. I don't want to be forced to possess an smart phone. I want to regain full control over what I own offline, locally from my computer. that used to be the case and you remotly updated my device to block me and force me to use a app that need an internet connection.
