Can't access bing.com
Sorry for the double post (can't access bing.com - La Communauté Vidéotron - 43877 (videotron.com)). I wanted to add to the topic but didn't figure out how to do it. I wanted to add that when bing.com can't be accessed on videotron, ping stops at e86303.dscx.akamaidge.net. That is, the dns returns this as the address of bing.com, whereas when bing is accessible it simply returns one of its IP addresses. Please note again, that all works fine when using telus as the service provider.MarcinRak01-19-2025Chevalier990Views0likes1CommentHelix Event Logs won't load
Hi, I wish to consult the logs on my Helix router. UnderTroubleshooting > Logs, I can download System Logs and Firewall Logs, for up to 90 days, and these load and can be downloaded no problem. But when I try to call up Event Logs, after giving the usual "This action may take more than one minute" message (and I accept), it says "Operation in Progress"... "This may take several seconds". And it spins, and spins, and spins, and nothing more happens. Finally, I get the message "Alert -Something went wrong, please try again". I've tried it in Edge, I've tried it in Chrome, I've dumped all my cookies, I've tried in "Guest Mode", but nothing works. Has anyone experienced this? Is there some other way to get logs? (A CLI interface would be awesome...) Thanks for any and all help, hints, or feedback!AnimeTron01-15-2025Squire971Views0likes1CommentVery slow internet this morning
Hello, since this morning I cannot download faster than ~250 to ~300 mbps rather than the usual 1gbps I get. I benched my network / router with iperf3 and I do hit 1gbps so my network is fine. I rebooted the Helix Gateway but to no avail. I use fast.com, speedtest.net and the videotron ookla test my connection which all give me the same result. Anyone experiencing the same?muffler01-13-2025Initiate1.5KViews1like6CommentsHelix with Wired-Only setup, or how to turn off WiFi
A friend of mine just got off the phone with Videotron for Internet service but has yet to go with them until the below can be confirmed. They only want wired Internet services (Internet-supplying coax and the ability to use RJ-45 ethernet). That means no WiFi RF transmission whatsoever from the Helix box. Most routers typically have this ability to shut off WiFi transmission. My questions are the following: - can advanced settings on the Helix box be accessed directly via web browser, as with other routers? - can all WiFi transmission (e.g. 2.5 and 5 GHz) be turned off through this web interface? - will the "WiFi Off" state persist through Helix reboots? - how many ethernet ports are there on the Helix box? Appreciate any confirmation.zorg01-13-2025Initiate1.9KViews0likes6CommentsPort forwarding impossible pour ethernet?
Bonjour Port forwarding.
I've been considering moving to Helix and have a few questions: - I have Videotron phone service through my Arris TM822 Cable modem - does the Helix unit have a battery backup as well for phone service? - I would like to put the Helix gateway in Bridge mode as I have a high end commercial grade router and wifi setup; does the Helix gateway provide a true public IP address in bridge mode or is giving out a private RFC1918 IP address? I would like to avoid double NATting. - In Bridge mode, is native IPv6 available? - If the technician were to give me the equipment to install myself and replace my TM822, would they also provide the security socket removal tool to remove the security sleeve from the coax? - Are the security sleeves still required with phone service? - I currently have 60/10 with my TM822 modem; would it be possible to upgrade to the 100mb Helix plan with my current equipment? - What is the current upload speed offered with the 100mb Helix plan? It is not listed on the website! Thanks!Solvedmzac01-09-2025Squire9.2KViews1like5CommentsI found this in the logs of my helix router

My ping to Mihoyo (Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero) servers went from 30ms to 120-150ms since 1 month ago. My friends who are with another provider have no problems. I already restarted the modem/router and it did not fix the problem. Using a VPN fix the routing issue but this is not a solution. From what I've seen from other Videotron users, I am not the only one with the same problem. I messaged support on Twitter and they said not our problem and closed the ticket. If the problem is not on their side then why does the other ISP have no issues. This had been going on for a month!ZeroKaion01-06-2025Squire383Views0likes5CommentsPort forwarding using ip adress - Helix Fi
Hi, I'm trying to portforward a port to a server running linux. I know for a fact the device is connected to the internet via my helix router. However, it doesnt show up in the list of connected device on the app. Therefore when i try to create a port forwarding rule my server doesnt show in the possible devices to forward to. I, very annoyingly, cant just enter the ip adress to port forward to. Is there a workaround to this badly designed system? Or is there a way to use an ip adress when setting up port forwarding? Edit: The server doesnt use an IPv6 adress. I can ping the gateway from the server without any packet losstyrede12-31-2024Initiate2.7KViews1like6CommentsAppels frauduleux
Merci.44Views0likes2CommentsIs bridge mode really passthru?
I just switched from regular modem from videotron to Helix. I have put helix in bridge mode. Since then, I am not able to connect to my FTP server at home. When connecting the helix portal via the web interface, nothing is related to firewall. And since I am in bridge mode, I cannot use the Helix app. So Is there anything I am missing?hugoleveille12-19-2024Initiate64Views0likes1CommentCan I manually change DNS configuration on Helix?
Hello, I am looking to manually configure the DNS settings on my Helix router, but this seems to NOT be an option. This is to improve my home network security to point at Canadian Shield DNS servers. Will Videotron provide users with this ability, or will in be forced to find an ISP that allows this? Kindest regards, TheMacAllynTheMacAllyn12-09-2024Initiate5.1KViews0likes7Commentshelix force us to use an app and posses an smart phone be connected to internet to configure router
