Canada / US plan
Last December I signed up for the Canada/US plan. I want to know how to use my phone in the USA? Do I need to use Airplane mode, or some such other thing? Or is it just like using it in another area of Canada and no action is needed? Texts - pictures - calls to Canada from the USA - calls to another cell phone - my wife - with the same plan while in the states. Local calls in the states while in the states. Student moving to BC - use Videotron until get permanent address?
I could have sworn I already asked this question but I can't find any trace of it. We have mobile plans in Ottawa with Videotron, which I think expire at the end of the year. Our daughter is moving to Vancouver to attend university in August. Can she use her Videotron plan for a few weeks or a couple of months until she gets her permanent address in residence? Bonjour, J’ai acheté une montre IPhone comme cadeau de Noel à ma femme ! Le service à la clientèle Vidéotron m’informe que je ne pourrais connecter la montre de manière indépendante car Vidéotron n’a pas encore le eSIM ??? Je constate dans ce forum que ça fait plusieurs années qu’on demande quand cette technologie sera disponible. Ma question: qu’est ce qui empêche Vidéotron à offrir l’esim. ? How long may I use Vidéotron number outside Canada?
I'm new to Vidéotron, just transfer my number from bell. After doing some research, I am worried about using Vidéotron while travelling outside Canada. I have a plan to travel outside Canada for more than six months outside Canada next year and I don't gonna use daily traveler pass because it's too expensive. But I do need to receive text messages and incoming calls during my travels. My question is, will Vidéotron block my service if I travel outside Canada for more than 3 months? It's not clear on the website but there is information about partner network,Note that when your usage of partners network 2 (calls, SMS and/or data) exceeds 50% of your total usage for 3 consecutive billing cycles, access to partner networks 2 will be blocked for 30 days. Warning! S23ultra users - the last September security update messed up the LTE modem
Long story short, after the September security update, my phone started to drain overnight 8x faster than before...I was losing 2-3% overnight, now it went to 20%. I wiped cache partition, went to great lengths factory resetting the phone, put it in safe mode to rule out a rogue app...NOTHING. In a moment of desperation, I set the bands to WCDMA/GSM only and the drain is gone!! Note that I have 5 LTE bars at home (band 12, RSSI > -95dBm) so signal strengthhas NEVER been a problem in the 5 years since I joined Videotron. I'm not on a Partner network at home. The only rational conclusions that either Videotron made changes to the modem code, or Samsung did and it affected Videotron bands. Either way, no one tested this seriously before blasting it to unsuspecting customers. Kiracan we please ensure that next time around, this issue gets addressed and tested? I spent a ton of time troubleshooting, so I'd rather not do it again. It would be a lot easier to just change carriers. Videotron’s ultravast LTE network goes where you go, unless it’s to Osheaga
I’d like to know why I should continue to use Videotron mobility when it was completely useless at Osheaga on Saturday? Both my companion and, both videotron customers, where left with no data except for the occasional 3G connection for our entire Osheaga experience, which is not what your ads seem to advertising. I was told by Videotron that my iPhone XR is not compatible with 5G which is what is used in the States. But I am wondering if they only use 5G or if 4G and LTE are still available with some US carriers and in some States. I am going to Charleston in South Carolina. After landing in Maui I received a notification that the Daily Traveler Pass was activated even though I have us roaming as part of my plan. DATA ALL-INCLUSIVE OFFER Also I noticed that this statement was included on the Daily Traveler Pass webpage "You may already be benefitting from the option to use the services included in your plan while roaming in the US, in which case you will not be billed for using them." 2 questions: a) Can I get 5G service in Ottawa either directly on Videotron network or roaming on partner network only? b) I just switched from an LTE device to a new 5G device. Helix fi app
Hello, I had internet problems tonight, so I started messing around with my phone and checking Helix Fi app. Long story short, I paused my cell phone using my Helix Fi app. Now I cannot use my phone internet to unpause it,I need to use the Helix fi app on the phone. But I cannot use my phone which the app is on. What do I do? I cannot download the app on pc to unpause it. It says to make a rendezvous with videotron for help, I thought I would try here first. I'm shopping for mobile CAN-US plans. Bell has one such plan and shows "Hotspot capabilities" as a feature. Do the Videotron CAN-US plans offer this feature? Hello, My son and I will be coming to Montreal from Greece this August. He will be studying for 3 years and I would like to know what he should do to get a reasonably priced mobile phone service while in Canada. He will be using Whatsapp, Viber and Messenger to communicate with us in Greece but he still needs a phone while in Montreal. I just made the switch over to videotron from bell. I usually have websites that I sign into that send me a code by text and I enter that code to sign in. It's not working with videotron service. Anyone else had this problem and if I call videotron can they fix it?
