Videotron started DOCSIS 3.1 deployment 4 years ago. When can we expect faster upload?
DOCSIS 3.1 deployment started in 2016, and by now, every new installation should have a DOCSIS 3.1 capable modem, whether it's a Helix plan or not. DOCSIS 3.1 also supports upload speeds up to 1 Gbps. Given all this, when can we expect to actually see these sorts of speeds with Videotron? Right now, no matter how much you pay or how badly it's needed, you are not able to get more than 50 mbps upload. This is probably fine for a good portion of people, but given the pandemic, it's absolutely not fine for many software developers and content creators who are now forced to work from home. Uploads that would take only a few minutes in the office now take upwards of half an hour, completely gutting my productivity through something completely out of my control. This is especially embarassing when other ISPs are offering symmetric gigabit speeds, while videotron can't even offer gigabit in a single direction. You have the infrastructure in place, the technology already exists, when can we start expecting more modern speeds?When is videotron going to offer faster upload?
Videotron's best plans right now are capped at 50 mbps upload. Previously, this was somewhat annoying, but I could manage with it. Given the current status of COVID-19, and being forced to work from home, it is becoming almost unbearable. In my work, I often have to upload large files from my computer to the internet. Given videotron's limits, this cuts into my productivity greatly, and there is absolutely nothing I can do about it. It's honestly embarassing that the upload speeds are this slow in 2020, when companies like Telus and Bell are rolling out symetric 1gbps connections. I've tried talking to business deparments, residential, everything - they're all capped at 50 mbps up. So, I'd like to know if there is anyone at videotron looking into this, or if offering faster upload is even on their radar
Request to get GO Apps for Helix users
I switched from bell to videotron, with the promise to have a better experience. The internet so far is great, no complaints, also the tv system works really good. But I have another tv with an Apple TV and I was surprised to see that none of the apps work with videotron/helix (ctv, citytv, global, fx) on bell I used to have them for free, given that I have them on my channels choices. It’s also not available a Helix app for the Appletv, and the iPhone app doesn’t allow to airplay the content.
Unlimited SMS mobile plans versus SMS APIs
Hi, considering the fact that all SMS APIs (for application development) out there only offer pay-as-you-go SMS plans (scaling with SMS volume), does a mobile phone with unlimited SMS really has unlimited SMS ? Would I get blocked trying to send 1 million SMS segments per months ? If not, instead of using an SMS API (let's say Twilio) with a pay-as-you-go plan that would cost around 400$/month to handle around 50k SMS (and scaling), I could get a mobile plan with unlimited SMS and connect the phone to my server to automatically handle these 50k+ SMS for only ~34$/month. I must be missing something...

i need to cancel my plan with them but the next billing cycle will start tmr but i dont want to be with them anymore but i got put on hold with customer service for like 45mins beforethey even asked me questions there customer service center was closed and i couldn't get any help on canncelingWhy is Videotron not included as a service provider for most "Go" apps?
Why is it that many channels I pay for on my plan aren't accessible online through the channel's Go App? Videotron is hardly ever listed among the service providers. I've searched here for other inquiries into this matter, and I've only found one response from Videotron on the subject of the availability of "Go" apps through this service provider (Videotron). The response was given in 2017 and the list of apps is short. Perhaps it's time that Videotron supply us with a new, more comprehensive list of "Go" apps that are available to us for being a subscriber? It's almost 2020 - what with all the other options that are out there - we will be soon looking for a service provider who offers us what we're looking for: Direct access, online, to the channels we are paying them for. One last thing, from that 2017 list of "Go" apps made available to us by Videotron, I've only been able to successfully use two: A&E and Global Thanks.
