73 SujetsBlocked ports on Helix
I was surprised when I started looking at my firewall logs and doing test myself that it now seems that Helix is letting through some tcp & udp ports that were previously blocked in the past. Can someone from Videotron check if someone removed an ACL on your side? For example, I'm seeing that ports 80 & 443 are open now as from what I read here they should be blocked: https://forum.videotron.com/t5/internet-telephony/business-internet-port-block/td-p/22929#:~:text=Here%20are%20the%20ports%20that,)%2C%204444%20(BLASTER). I've been considering moving to Helix and have a few questions: - I have Videotron phone service through my Arris TM822 Cable modem - does the Helix unit have a battery backup as well for phone service? - I would like to put the Helix gateway in Bridge mode as I have a high end commercial grade router and wifi setup; does the Helix gateway provide a true public IP address in bridge mode or is giving out a private RFC1918 IP address? I would like to avoid double NATting. - In Bridge mode, is native IPv6 available? - If the technician were to give me the equipment to install myself and replace my TM822, would they also provide the security socket removal tool to remove the security sleeve from the coax? - Are the security sleeves still required with phone service? - I currently have 60/10 with my TM822 modem; would it be possible to upgrade to the 100mb Helix plan with my current equipment? - What is the current upload speed offered with the 100mb Helix plan? It is not listed on the website! Thanks!Résolu9,2 kVues1like5CommentairesPort forwarding using ip adress - Helix Fi
Hi, I'm trying to portforward a port to a server running linux. I know for a fact the device is connected to the internet via my helix router. However, it doesnt show up in the list of connected device on the app. Therefore when i try to create a port forwarding rule my server doesnt show in the possible devices to forward to. I, very annoyingly, cant just enter the ip adress to port forward to. Is there a workaround to this badly designed system? Or is there a way to use an ip adress when setting up port forwarding? Edit: The server doesnt use an IPv6 adress. I can ping the gateway from the server without any packet loss2,8 kVues1like6CommentairesProblems with my IP address
Hi there. I’ve been trying for several months now to open network settings in the browser. Before it worked fine, but it seems that my browser is not able to reach my public IP anymore. The browser tries to load it for a minute and gives an error. I also encountered problems with running servers on my PC. I tried to solve this problem for like a month or so and couldn't find any information about that. I have literally checked everything available on the internet with no results. I appreciate any help from you.58Vues0like1CommentaireHélix in Florida
Hi community. I am spending the winter in Florida. My helix is recording programs back home in Saint Jerome. When I try to watch my pre-recorded programs or live television here in Florida, I get an error message saying that I do not have access in this country. I have installed a VPN with an IP address in Montreal I still have no access to my recorded programming or live television. Has anyone found a workaround for this problem?351Vues0like0Commentaire- 3,7 kVues0like0Commentaire
Looking to leave Videotron, can I use my Helix 2 Borne as a router with another company's modem
I can't find any mentions of this anywhere... How am I able to set up my helix 2 borne as a router only? I know about bridge mode but that is if I want to use another router and use the helix 2 as a modem. If I leave Vidéotron will the modem portion of the router stop working as the service is cancelled and the router will keep working? or will the whole thing not work as I am no longer with Vidéotron? Thank youRésolu10 kVues0like7Commentaires
