You automatically reach for it to change the channel or turn up the volume, but did you know your illico remote can do so much more?
Here are a few tips that will make you a remote control pro:
(1) Zoom button (#): It’s the key in the bottom right-hand corner of the keypad and it’s ever so useful when you’re switching from an HD channel to an SD channel. Press it once, twice or three times to change the size of the image and get rid of the black bars and the top and bottom of an SD channel.
(2) Picture-in-Picture (PiP): This button at the bottom of the remote will make you a channel-hopping demon during commercial breaks. Want to check the score in the hockey game but don’t want to miss any of the Big Bang Theory? Not a problem! Just press the PiP button to keep the program you were watching in an inset window so you can go back to it as soon as the commercials are over.
(3) Soft keys (A, B, C, D): These can be used for all kinds of functions depending on what you’re doing. Try them and you’ll be surprised at the things you can do without having to go into the menus.
What about you? Have you discovered any useful shortcuts on your illico remote?
