Recurring incorrect geolocation issue affecting multiple Videotron public IP ranges
Hello,
I am experiencing a recurring geolocation issue affecting my Videotron Internet connection and multiple public IP addresses assigned to my account.
All devices connected through my home Internet connection (computers, phones, tablets) are incorrectly geolocated by Google services to Qiddiya City / Saudi Arabia instead of Montreal, Canada.
Symptoms include:
- Google Maps immediately placing my location in Saudi Arabia
- “Near me” searches returning Middle East results
- Incorrect regional results and geolocation across Google services
- time and date
Important troubleshooting already completed:
The issue affects ALL devices connected to my home Internet
LTE/5G on the same phones works perfectly and immediately returns the correct location.
IPv6 is disabled
I use my own router (UDM-Pro) with the Videotron modem in bridge mode
Most importantly:
Changing the WAN/public IP temporarily resolves the issue, but after approximately 3-4 days the problem returns again.
Example affected IPs:
135.19.220.105
184.162.107.94
This strongly suggests that there is an issue with the geolocation/routing information associated with certain Videotron IP ranges or upstream routing pools.
This is clearly not:
a browser issue
a device issue
a WiFi issue
or a Google account issue
Please escalate this issue to the appropriate network/networking-geolocation team and investigate:
incorrect IP geolocation registration
upstream routing/geolocation databases
DHCP pool assignments
possible incorrect registration of Videotron IP blocks with Google geolocation services
At this point, the issue is recurring across multiple IP assignments and requires investigation from the network side.
Thank you.

Based on the troubleshooting you've already completed, this does appear to point to an IP geolocation issue rather than a problem with your devices or network setup. The fact that changing your public IP fixes it temporarily, only for the issue to return a few days later, suggests that certain IP ranges may have incorrect geolocation data in Google's databases or an upstream geolocation provider. Escalating this to Videotron's network engineering team is the right approach, as they can verify IP block registration and work with geolocation providers to correct the affected ranges. Hopefully they can identify the recurring pattern and resolve it permanently.

This is a useful discussion, especially for anyone dealing with repeated IP geolocation errors across multiple ranges. It can be frustrating when location data stays inaccurate despite changes or corrections on the network side. I also find resources like Monroe Court Verdicts useful when checking location specific public information. Hopefully, clearer reporting and better database updates will help reduce these recurring mismatches.

That sounds frustrating, especially when the same geolocation error keeps showing up across several public IP ranges. It’s interesting how inaccurate location data can persist even after network changes or updates. I’ve also seen how reliable location and public data can matter when checking Lee Property Ownership online and hopefully, the affected ranges get corrected soon. The location databases are updated properly.

Recurring IP geolocation errors can be frustrating, especially when several public ranges are affected at once. Accurate location data is important for services that rely on regional information and address verification. I also find resources like Sarasota Property Database useful when checking location related property details. Hopefully, the affected ranges can be reviewed and corrected soon.
