Planet Courrier has horrible service
Absolutely unacceptable delivery service. Twice in one week.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Planet Courier has been so frustrating, poorly coordinated, and utterly disrespectful of the customer's time that I feel compelled to share it.
Wednesday, November 4:
At approximately 7:45 AM, someone rang my doorbell. I had received absolutely no advance notification of an upcoming delivery -- no email, no text message, nothing.
The doorbell rang twice in quick succession. By the time I managed to get downstairs, nobody was there.
I immediately checked the tracking information. Nothing indicated that a delivery had been attempted.
Later that evening, I discovered that the delivery had been marked as attempted at 8:11 AM, despite the doorbell having rung at approximately 7:45 AM.
I called customer support, explained what had happened, and arranged redelivery for Friday, November 6.
I specifically requested that the courier be instructed to wait a little longer at the door, explaining that I live on the second floor of a duplex and work from home, often attending meetings. The representative agreed to add this instruction.
I was also told that deliveries take place between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Friday, November 6:
At approximately 7:50 AM, my doorbell rang.
Again, two rings in rapid succession.
I dropped everything, rushed to get dressed, and practically ran downstairs.
By the time I opened the door, the courier was already walking away toward the sidewalk.
I had to call out to him to stop him from leaving with my package.
When I mentioned my explicit request to customer support, he said he knew nothing about it.
When I pointed out that it wasn't even 8:00 AM, he told me that my address was simply first on his delivery list.
His proposed solution? He could deliver it another day.
And here's the most ridiculous part: the delivery confirmation itself records the delivery time as 7:49 AM.
That's 11 minutes BEFORE the delivery window I had been given by Planet Courier's own customer support.
This isn't a misunderstanding or a matter of opinion. The time is documented in their own delivery confirmation.
Let me be absolutely clear: I don't expect delivery drivers to wait indefinitely, and I understand that they have demanding schedules.
But I do expect a delivery company to respect the delivery window it communicates, provide reasonable notice, and give customers a realistic opportunity to answer their doors.
A customer should not have to sprint down the stairs and call after a departing courier just to receive a package.
What makes this particularly unacceptable is that I had ALREADY contacted customer support after the first incident, explained the problem, and received assurances that my instructions would be passed along.
And yet, the exact same situation happened again.
What exactly is the point of contacting customer support if the issue remains unresolved?
Planet Courier managed to turn a completely routine delivery into two mornings of unnecessary frustration.
Between the lack of advance notification, the discrepancy in the first attempted-delivery timestamp, the second delivery occurring before the stated window, and the courier's dismissive response, this has been an exceptionally poor customer experience.
I have absolutely no confidence in this company's ability to handle even basic delivery coordination reliably.
