Ukraine contract not respected

Why does videotron not notify ukrainian users when they reach their internet data limit? Why does videotron not respect the law that requires them to disactivate internet data when the surcharge reaches 50$? Why does videotron not respect the contracts they signed with their customers? Why does the law let videotron charge over 8000$ to a user without ever having sent them notices or without having blocked the data? Why do your customers have to fight to get their contracts respected? Why are there so many ukrainian families affected by this?

This Q&A considers the legal issues for contracts impacted by war and sanctions following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In particular it considers force majeure, frustration, illegality, termination for non-performance and termination for convenience.

  • En effet, Vidéotron charge les dépassements sans avertir l'usager, il se fait des $$$ sur le dos des familles Ukrainiennes...Pourtant, le mot videotron ce ne sonne pas Russe...Quelle est la nationalité de Péladeau au final?

  • All other carriers I've dealt with give you the option to either throttle you down to free internet or block service when you get to your limit to avoid going over. Videotron even has the gall to use it in their marketing as "You get full speed no matter what!" while leaving out the part "because we'll charge you so much for every little bit you use". Like what? You're proudly saying you'll try to trick us into going over and charging us as much as possible?
