35 SujetsHelix TV Issue "Channel Temporarily Unavailable"
I have always had this issue, but disregarded it because I didn't watch too much TV. However, now that the Olympics are on, I've been watching much more often. The issue I'm experiencing is that every time I watch Helix TV, after a few minutes, the three dots appear on the screen as if it's loading something. After sometime, the error message shows up "This channel is temporarily unavailable". While this is happening, I can hear the sound of the channel in the background, and can change channels, but I can't see anything except the 3 dots. Clicking "Try Again" or "Cancel" does not do anything. Guide still works and the Helix button brings up the menu, but when anything is selected, it just shows the 3 dots loading. The only thing that fixes this is to unplug the box and plug it back in, but then after a few minutes the problem starts up again. I have tried changing HDMI cables, changing the Helix box from the old (Gen 1) to the more recent (Gen 2), but still am having the same problem. Please see the screenshot for a better understanding. I subscribe to the CTV Comedy Channel through Videotron (Helix) and would like to watch the Daily Show with Jon Stewart but it doesn't appear in the line-up. I have been on the phone with customer service three or, four times now about my channel line up. Although, I am supposed to be able to change my channel line up once every 30 days, on my TV and in my customer center, I have not been able to do so. Any link that I click on leads me to an error page with a message to call and so I have called ....... and called ...... So, BBC Canada is no longer available and apparently, a random channel replaced it in my package. I want to switch out that random channel with Starz. I have asked if this is a premium channel and I was told not. The reps that I have spoken with say, give it time. They call me back and it's still not working. They call back again, and again, it's still not working. I was told I would have another call back yesterday. Never received it. I switched from bell to videotron, with the promise to have a better experience. The internet so far is great, no complaints, also the tv system works really good. But I have another tv with an Apple TV and I was surprised to see that none of the apps work with videotron/helix (ctv, citytv, global, fx) on bell I used to have them for free, given that I have them on my channels choices. It’s also not available a Helix app for the Appletv, and the iPhone app doesn’t allow to airplay the content.5,4 kVues1like3Commentaires
