Port Fowarding Helix FI App

I have spent the better part of January 2024 trying to setup port forwarding on a handful of PC's. All are connected to the Helix Technicolor CGM4140COM either through a switch or directly via RJ45 patch cable(s). Having been a Videotron / Helix customer for a number of years I have always known this process to be nightmarish. Three of the five devices that require ports to be forwarded are nowhere to be found when attemtpting to configure PF manually. By nowhere I am referring to both Connected Devices / Online Devices - Private Network and Offline Devices. What I find odd is that most of the devices that are available and "Connected to your WiFi" happen to be wireless devices.

If only the app allowed for manual entry of the device's IP address directly when going to WiFi / Advanced settings / Port forwarding / Add Port Forward. Instead of Select the device for this port forward.

Your time, patience, and assistance will be greatly appreciated.

  • Yeah, it’s pretty frustrating that Videotron still doesn’t offer Name Display when most of the major providers have it. It would be super helpful to see who’s calling before picking up. Hopefully, they add it soon—feels like a pretty basic feature in 2024!

It seems most providers (Bell, Telus, Rogers) have Name display available for their customers. When is Videotron going to get this service already?

I don't mean if the number is in your contacts, it will show when they call.

Videotron has not announced a specific timeline for implementing Name Display for their customers.

Does your issue still pending or fixed out?

  • Today is May 27th, 2021.

I called Videotron just now, almost 1 hour as they went around checking their database and Tier 2 support. Here is what I have as a follow up from posts made in 2019 and 2020.

Videotron still DOES NOT SUPPORT, nor foresee "NAME DISPLAY" / "Affichage du nom" as a feature.

The person at Videotron was informed to save all possible phone #s and names in my Smartphone contact list.

Hum... how many company names are there in Canada and the USA?

I know in 2019 there were 1.23 million in Canada and 22 million in the USA

    Better start typing...
