Microsoft January 2026 updates cause problems for Classic Outlook email clients
Hello
Can anyone tell me if this previous thread/topic is still being discussed. I can't seem to access it. Getting access denied. Either it's gone or for some reason I don't have the permission to view it.
I am dealing with this issue currently where my two email accounts seem to timeout and I get an error synchroniztion message on my PC and laptop though at times it goes through. If you hit send & receive repeatedly you will get some success.
What is the latest on this?

You aren't imagining things—it’s a known sync bug. The reason it works when you spam the "Send/Receive" button is just luck; you're catching a connection window before the server times out. Try this quick fix: Go into your Account Settings, find the Advanced tab, and slide the Server Timeouts up to 3 minutes. It gives the app more breathing room to finish the handshake.
