Forwarding ports in Helix Fi app not actually forwarding them
Hello, I've used my Helix Fi app to forward ports. For some reason, some ports do open and others don't. I.e. on the same device, I have 9443 open (and showing as such on various online tools) but ...

Hello,
It's frustrating when port forwarding doesn't behave as expected. Here's a breakdown of potential causes and troubleshooting steps, considering the specific ports you're encountering:
Possible Causes:
Firewall on the Target Device:
Even if the Helix Fi router is forwarding the ports, the device receiving the forwarded traffic (your computer, server, etc.) might have its own firewall blocking the connections.
This is a very common issue. Ensure that the Windows Firewall, macOS firewall, or any other firewall software on your device allows incoming connections on the specified ports.
Application/Service Not Listening:
The application or service that's supposed to be using those ports might not be running or configured to listen for incoming connections.
For example, if you're trying to forward port 80 for a web server, the web server software (like Apache or Nginx) must be actively running.
Conflicting Applications:
Another application on the target device might already be using the ports you're trying to forward.
Helix Fi Firmware/Software Bugs:
It's possible, though less likely, that there's a bug in the Helix Fi app or firmware that's causing the port forwarding to malfunction.
Best Regards
