Hi there, We have two Illico 8642HD recorders - one in the basement and one in the living room. We used to be able to watch recording on the other recorders. Since this morning, I cannot. Is this something that changed from Videotron did I lose a config? If so how do I get it back? Thx for your assistance192Vues0like1CommentaireHelix Internet & Illico TV?
Is this possible? Could we split the coax cable and run it into the gateway and modem and then use the former for the internet and the latter for the TV? I ask because there are some limitations w/ Helix TV that are deal-breakers for me: Inability to record a TV program from when you started to watch it vs when you started recording it The delay between changing the channels I have confirmed that these issues are not present with Bell. Are there otherlimitations others have come across after using Helix for some time that they had wished they knew about before? It is also disappointing that there are not more apps (E.g. Plex)Résolu704Vues0like1CommentaireTV Security and Parental Control: Setting up Your PIN
It can’t be stressed enough: securing all your devices is essential. I can already hear you asking: “But why would I need a PIN on my TV?” For one thing, to prevent unwanted or unexpected purchases that lead to eye-popping charges on your next invoice. Second, to keep your jaw from hitting the floor when you find your kids enthralled by content that is not appropriate or that does not communicate the same educational values as those you teach at home. Don’t worry—we’ve thought of everything you need to make sure your family’s TV experiences are always simple and fun. Purchase PIN and Parental Control PIN on Helix TV When enabled, any paid content orders must be confirmed using the Purchase PIN. Just press the HELIX key on your remote control, select Settings, then Purchase PIN. Enable it and create a four-digit PIN. Choose a PIN that you can easily remember, but that your kids won’t guess on the first try! Parental Control allows you to set restrictions on content access, channels, applications, and when the television can be watched. Use the “Parental Control” voice command and activate Parental Control by creating your four-digit PIN. Then set the parental control level and the restrictions you want. This Parental Control PIN will be required to change current settings and to access restricted content. Tip: Don’t struggle with the two PINs—you can use the same PIN for both features. This is convenient, since you need to configure them separately on each Helix TV terminal and mobile device with the Helix TV app. Learn more about how PINs work on Helix TV. Administrator and Parental Control PINs on illico TV The administrator PIN enables you to order content on channel 900, modify your services, and access Parental Control. Since the default PIN for all illico terminals is 0000 (and can’t be considered a well-kept secret), change it to make it more secure. For the illico New Generation terminal, press the A key on your remote control, select Settings, then Controls and Limits. Enter the current PIN and select Modify Your Admin PIN. You can then create your new four-digit PIN. Do you have a first-generation illico terminal? See these instructions. With your administrator PIN, you can activate Parental Control to filter certain content by age group or even hide adult content. On the illico New Generation terminal, press the A key on your remote control, select Settings, then Controls and Limits. Enter your PIN, select Edit Controls and Limits, then activate Parental Control. See the instructions for a first generation illico terminal. Tip: You can let family members order paid content without having to share your administrator PIN. The Order PIN is a second PIN created specifically for ordering paid content. Set it up. Learn more about how PINs work on illico TV. Since I began by telling you that security is important on all your devices, here are a few other useful reads about the various PINs you can use: For appropriate TV content on your mobile devices: Configure Parental Control on the Helix TV App For safe browsing and easy access management: Enable Helix Fi Parental Control For secure voicemail on your mobile phone: Set up your Mobile Voicemail PIN3,1 kVues0like0CommentaireInterview with actor Doug Jones at Comiccon Ottawa!
Doug Jones, Guillermo Del Toro’s favorite actor, will attend the Ottawa edition of the Comiccon this week end. We had the chance to interview him. You are a Videotron customer? You’ll be pleased to enjoy a very unique and exclusive offer on the Ottawa Comiccon! [All details are here.] What has been your most challenging role, and why? Thirty years of creature roles, and all of them have their challenges. Most recently, the Amphibian Man in THE SHAPE OF WATER was physically challenging with a head to toe rubber fish suit/make-up, but also the emotional story I had to bring to the camera as the romantic leading man of the film ... as a merman. What do you get out of meeting fans? I love meeting the people who have been watching my movies and TV shows all these years. They so often come with stories of how a certain film or show I was in entertained, inspired, or changed their lives in some way. Those stories keep me going through the next project. What’s your best on-set memory? So many touching, fun, funny moments happen while filming. The day a film wraps is always special with a sense of accomplishment. Wrapping PAN'S LABYRINTH was especially fulfilling. I went into that movie convinced I would fail with the physical difficulties of the make-ups and the paragraphs of dialogue in a language I don't speak. So when we wrapped, I realized in an instant that I actually pulled it off! Of the actors you’ve worked with, which one has impressed you the most? For her on-camera magic - Sally Hawkins. For his charisma - Ron Perlman. For the amount of material they can handle on an ongoing series with such commitment to the story - Noah Wyle and Sonequa Martin-Green. What’s been the best thing about being part of the Star Trek family? I have loved being part of a beloved franchise that affected my own childhood and beyond. Of all your projects, which one are you the most proud of? I have to be proud of all of them, or I shouldn't have been involved in the first place. One stand-out is an indie film I did as a regular guy in a title role that was written specifically for me - MY NAME IS JERRY. And in the mainstream, THE SHAPE OF WATER will always hold a special place in my heart, including its 13 Oscar nominations and 4 wins, including best picture. Do you know any French words or expressions? Oui. And that's about it, sorry to say. What is your favourite movie? If I had to go to a deserted island and could only take one DVD with me, it would be SOMEWHERE IN TIME, with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. Romantic and fantastical. Of the roles you’ve played, which one do you think would make the best cosplay? Many of my characters have been portrayed by cosplayers, and I'm always so impressed. The difficult, detailed ones I've seen include Silver Surfer from FANTASTIC 4, El Fauno from PAN'S LABYRINTH, Billy from HOCUS POCUS, Abe Sapien from HELLBOY, and the Angel Of Death from HELLBOY 2. Can you tell us what the last text message you sent/received was? Who was it to/from? I received a photo from my wellness coach Steve Atlas with his dad, telling me that he is a personal hero. What’s the last thing you watched on your phone? The music video for Michael Bolton's "Go The Distance." When you’re not filming, what’s your favourite hobby? I love writing, and I have just started a novel loosely based on me from 15 years ago. Where do you normally watch movies or series? I'm old fashioned and prefer watching TV on my actual television, and movies in the cinema. But if I miss a film in the cinema, I'm happy to see it on a big screen TV with a great sound system. What’s the last video you saw that made you crack up? "Free Association With Ponceman" on YouTube. What’s next for you? A feature film I did with Mira Sorvino, BENEATH THE LEAVES will be playing at Cannes Film Festival this May, and later this year will be the releases of GEHENNA: WHERE DEATH LIVES; THE TERROR OF HALLOWS EVE; and my lifelong dream, NOSFERATU the remix. I'm also currently filming season 2 of STAR TREK; DISCOVERY, airing starts early in 2019. [Check the Special Club illico collection for the 2018 Comiccon here.] Bonus questions: Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings? Lord of the Rings. Star Wars or Star Trek? Being in the current Trek series, I kind of have to say Star Trek, don't I? Marvel or DC? Done characters for both, but might lean more into Marvel. Tea or coffee? Coffee. Comic books or movies? Movies. or ? Always Movies or TV series? Movies. Cinema or theater? Cinema, but the live theater does have its own magic.4,3 kVues0like0CommentaireNew Illico recordings are not properly sorted by date
I'm an Illico subscriber with the Samsung GX-VD940CJ PVR. Since December 4, I've been having a problem with the sorting of new recordings by date. Specifically, all new recordings are placed at the bottom of the list of recordings instead of at the top (i.e. they are considered "older" than anything else I've recorded previously, going back several years). For series episodes that are grouped together in the recordings list, new episodes are similarly placed at the bottom. Only items that were recorded since December 4 are properly sorted in the list, albeit at the bottom (for example, a December 11 recording will appear before a December 5 recording, but both are at the very end of the list). I know that recorded items store their full recording date (including year) internally, even though only the month and day are displayed in the recordings list. So it's likely that, since December 4 at least, the incorrect YEAR is being stored with my recorded items, resulting in the screwed-up date orders. I've already tried rebooting the PVR by unplugging it for 60 seconds, which did not fix anything. If the issue is only on my side, is there something I can do, apart from factory-resetting the PVR and losing dozens of saved recordings, which I do *NOT* want to do? Is it possible that something was accidentally changed on Videotron's side, where new recordings are given a default year of "1969" for example?1,8 kVues0like2CommentairesOlder Illico models
Hello, My parents own two Illico Cisco 4642HD terminals at their home; one was manufactured in January 2012 and the other in June 2014. Using the 2014 version, they have access to the HD versions of the CTV Comedy, Movie Time, Starz 2, to name a few. However, on the 2012 one, they only have access to the SD version of those channels on TV (they DO have access to HD of other channels, but not all of them). Is possible to update the software or is there anything Videotron can do to help? Or do they need to purchase a more recent Illico terminal? Helix is not an option because it is not avaiable in their area. Thanks in advanceRésolu5 kVues0like1CommentaireJune 15, 2022, switch from the illico TV app to Helix TV
Don't forget that as of tomorrow morning (June 15, 2022), illico subscribers will have to make the switch to the Helix TV app to listen to their content on mobile or on the web. If you're looking for more information to help you with this change, you can find it here. And you're probably wondering what are the advantages of the new application. Well, with the Helix TV app, you can: Download your content before you leave home and watch it wherever you are with the Download and Go option. Watch your movies and shows simultaneously on five different screens, such as your tablet, smartphone or TV. Stream your content to any screen, even a TV, wherever you are.3,5 kVues1like2CommentairesVideotron Illico
I have used the Illico online TV guide to program and manage my 4 Illico boxes. Now it appears that Videotron has discontinued the service and is trying to force Helix down my throat. Helix is an interesting system but I am invested in Illico. The Helix TV app does not work with the Illico system. I consider this a reduction of my service. I wonder how much they are willing to reduce my bill? I wonder what the CRTC has to say?4,4 kVues0like5CommentairesHandshake problem?
Hoping you folks can figure out this annoying problem. Brand new Samsung QLED TV (Q90A) connected directly to the Illico Samsung 4K PVR via HDMI (I've switched 3 cables, problem persists) This doesn't happen all the time but on cold boot (say, in the morning), there will either be no sound, other times no image no sound and other days all is good with image and sound. When there is no image I still get the info below: The only way to fix this is to reboot the terminal and connect/reconnect the cable. The same happens on the TV's other 3 HDMI ports. If I connect the terminal to my little 19"in Samsung, never a problem and the same when it was connected to the old Samsung plasma. Thanks in advance for any possible leads to solve this problem.Résolu4,8 kVues0like3Commentaires
