TV Security and Parental Control: Setting up Your PIN
It can’t be stressed enough: securing all your devices is essential. I can already hear you asking: “But why would I need a PIN on my TV?” For one thing, to prevent unwanted or unexpected purchases that lead to eye-popping charges on your next invoice. Second, to keep your jaw from hitting the floor when you find your kids enthralled by content that is not appropriate or that does not communicate the same educational values as those you teach at home. Don’t worry—we’ve thought of everything you need to make sure your family’s TV experiences are always simple and fun. Purchase PIN and Parental Control PIN on Helix TV When enabled, any paid content orders must be confirmed using the Purchase PIN. Just press the HELIX key on your remote control, select Settings, then Purchase PIN. Enable it and create a four-digit PIN. Choose a PIN that you can easily remember, but that your kids won’t guess on the first try! Parental Control allows you to set restrictions on content access, channels, applications, and when the television can be watched. Use the “Parental Control” voice command and activate Parental Control by creating your four-digit PIN. Then set the parental control level and the restrictions you want. This Parental Control PIN will be required to change current settings and to access restricted content. Tip: Don’t struggle with the two PINs—you can use the same PIN for both features. Administrator and Parental Control PINs on illico TV The administrator PIN enables you to order content on channel 900, modify your services, and access Parental Control. Since the default PIN for all illico terminals is 0000 (and can’t be considered a well-kept secret), change it to make it more secure. For the illico New Generation terminal, press the A key on your remote control, select Settings, then Controls and Limits. Enter the current PIN and select Modify Your Admin PIN. With your administrator PIN, you can activate Parental Control to filter certain content by age group or even hide adult content. On the illico New Generation terminal, press the A key on your remote control, select Settings, then Controls and Limits. Tip: You can let family members order paid content without having to share your administrator PIN. The Order PIN is a second PIN created specifically for ordering paid content. Set it up. However, we’ll also recycle devices not initially purchased from us( amazing!). It's important to note that once an item has been dropped off for recycling, it can no longer be claimed. But don't stress: your old cell phone is in good hands! What if your old phone still works, but your heart is set on another model? Exchange your old phone at a Videotron location and you may be eligible for a discount on the purchase of a new device. The discounted amount depends on the condition of the old device you’re returning. Important things to know You are responsible for your personal data—it's personal, after all. Ukraine contract not respected
Why does videotron not notify ukrainian users when they reach their internet data limit? Why does videotron not respect the law that requires them to disactivate internet data when the surcharge reaches 50$? Why does videotron not respect the contracts they signed with their customers? Why does the law let videotron charge over 8000$ to a user without ever having sent them notices or without having blocked the data? Why do your customers have to fight to get their contracts respected? Why are there so many ukrainian families affected by this?
Still no login access for CTV app!
The no login to CTV for Videotron customers issue was brought up here two years ago and I see there's still no resolution. Videotron customers pay for CTV as part of their cable package yet when we try to log into the CTV app (in my case on an Amazon Firestick) or through a web browser, almost all cable providers in Canada are listed but not Videotron. I know the easy answer is that it's due to the ongoing battle between Videotron and Bell. Each of them will blame the other. We don't care. We're paying for the channel and we should have a login. Besides, Crave, which is also owned by Bell, does have a login for Videotron customers. So the argument that it's due to the Videotron/Bell battle doesn't really make sense. So if any Videotron decision makers are reading this, please fix this. It's been two years now since the issue was raised on here and all I see is answers talking about what other on-demand services you offer but nothing about fixing the basic issue. We pay for CTV as part of our cable package, so we should access. Point final! I'm currently trying to decide if I'll switch to Helix or go with another company altogether (not Bell as they limit their internet speed to my address for now, although a Bell technician recently told me that would change soon). There are other companies that offer fast internet to my address and that are listed as logins to the CTV and Crave apps so perhaps I'll switch to one of them. I'd like to switch to Helix, but I don't like that my access is blocked to login to an online version of a channel I pay for as part of my package. Please fix this!
