Hello everyone.
I have the 400 mbps plan with Videotron and they gave my originally a wifi 5 ac router.
However my desktop and Quest 2 support wifi 6 ax, so I was wondering if videotron have wifi 6 capable routers available and if they could replace mine in this case.
If not, can I just buy a wifi 6 router from Amazon and replace mine with it without issues?

Videotron doesn't have at the moment any WIfi 6 routers.
You certainly can purchase your own routeur and plug it into the modem.
If you have a helix modem, you're gona have to put it into bridge mode first.

Thank you! How would I go about setting the new router up to work with the videotron modem? I thought the supplied router came with specific preconfigured settings?
I dont have a helix modem by the way.

The provided router is preconfigured with an SSID et PWD with the info on a sticker behind it.
Nothing fancy other than that.
So any router will do, it's plug-n-play if the one your purchase is preconfigured with an SSID and PWD as well.

You will need to turn off the Helix modem and basically turn your Helix into a basic cable modem. I have done that since I have WIFI6 mesh that beats any WIFI on Helix.
