New Helix Customer

Hi,

I just switched to Helix from Bell and all my devices are working on the new wifi except the following:

Google home mini

Blink cameras

Sonos wireless speakers

In all of the above, it asks to connect to the product's own temporary network in order to configure the wifi and then it fails every time.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi! sounds like these devices are compatible with the 2.4 Ghz network only, and Helix fuses both the 2.4 and 5 Ghz in one name which can confuse certain devices. If you don't have any relay pods, here's what to do;

On the Helix Fi app, go to the WiFi tab and then press on ''wiFi details''
Then ''edit WiFi settings''
Activate the ''split bands'' switch
Change the 5ghz network's name
*** do not rename the 2.4 Ghz ***
Press on ''save''

Once it's done, connect the devices to the 2.4 Ghz network.
When that's done, you can fuse the networks again by going through the same path but deactivate the ''split bands'' switch then save.

Have a nice day!

What if he has pods? I do have one pod and I can't understand why I can't split 2.4 and 5ghz anymore. How in the world is it possible to chose specific band when we have relays?!

Hi! Helix relays work in mesh which by prequisite needs the bands to be fused. It's not possible to split/manually choose the band on our plateforms with a relay. You could however check with the manufacturer of your devices to see if a setting is available to prioritize a 5Ghz / 2.4 ghz connection.
