11 SujetsHuawei Mate 20 Pro EMUI 10 update...when?
Rogers and Telus have posted dates (10-14 days ago), Bell has pushed the software already but we have no update (or software) from Videotron. Would be nice to maintain a calendar of updates - same as Rogers, Fido, Telus... So, when is Videotron going to push EMUI 10 ? Huawei Canada obviously has no visibility - I contacted them. They did confirm that ALL Canadian carriers signed up for this Android 10 update.Résolu5,7 kVues0like3CommentairesAndroid 10/One UI 2.0 sur Samsung Galaxy S10+
Salut! Hello, Have you found all your gifts already? I invite you to channel your inner Santa Claus and give us your suggestions of the best techno gifts! Who knows? I have had it with Bell mobile. Lately I noticed their customer service (or lack there of) has been declining quickly. The only reason why I stayed this long with them was because I had an awesome plan that was grandfathered in and I had 2 other lines (mom and her sister) that I would have had to move over too. In the past two week I had a lot of BS that made me want to take a look at competitors and see what I can get. Videotron has a great deal if I bring my own phone and is only $5 more a month but I'm not sure how their reception or services is in Ontario since its a Quebec company. They also give an additional discount if I have 3 lines which is even better! Does anyone have any insights on how Videotron is overall?5,8 kVues0like3CommentairesGalaxy Note8 Smart Focus
Hello, Hi, this is for any of you with the Note8. Now that the device has officially a month in the market, can you tell us your impressions? Battery life, overall performance, sPen, dual camera, etc. I read somewhere that the dual focus feature is not as nice as all the hype had made us believe. I will like to know how it compares to the portrait mode of Apple and how well that dual OIS is working out for the Note8. In your opinion does the Note8 is worth getting over the S8+ specially when considering the price hyke between them compared to the features. thanks iosmanRésolu4,4 kVues0like1CommentaireUser Centre + widget not auto updating (Android)
I've got the User Centre + data widget (consummation 4*1) on my home screen and it doesn't seem to update itself...is this normal? Even if I tap the widget which takes me to the app's data status screen, it still won't update to match the app's info. My mobile data is always on, wifi often, data saver off, phone & storage permissions enabled. I have a 4-line family plan, and I want to upgrade service on two lines. I thought Videotron would make it easy for me to give them more money, but that doesn't seem to be true! According toVideotron Support, we can change our services using the Customer Centre. Would someone please describe how I can change my mobile plan this way?Résolu8,1 kVues0like1CommentaireAndroid November security patch still unavailable
Hi there, Google pixel 3 user here. Google has rolled out the November security patch and many users online have it installed yet it does not appear when I scan for an update. A common response some have been posting is that the carrier ie Videotron in this case delays the update roll out. Can someone confirm if this is in fact the case? These updates should be available over the air as soon as Google releases them especially if you have a pixel / Google device.Résolu5,9 kVues0like3CommentairesPlanned obsolescence: Fact or fiction?
A newer and snappier cellphone hits the market and suddenly your 4-year-old device starts to seem slow – oh so slow. Conspiracy theorists will tell you the cellphone manufacturers program their products to slowly self-destruct. Others will say it’s just your perception, or an excuse for getting a flashier phone. But according to this article in the New York Times, if your phone is slowing down it’s almost always because of software upgrades, which are often released a few days before or after a new mobile phone comes out. Here are a few excerpts from the article about things you can do to make the updates easier for your phone to handle: Start fresh: Tech companies make it simple to upgrade to a new operating system by pressing an “update” button, which seamlessly migrates all your apps and data over. While that’s convenient, it isn’t the best way to ensure that things will continue running smoothly. A better practice is backing up all your data and purging everything from the device before installing the new operating system. This “clean install” works more reliably because the engineers developing operating systems were able to test this condition more easily. Remove the “cruft.” Sometimes you can do some light maintenance to speed up your device. Over the long term, an operating system accumulates system files, settings, logs and other data that can bog down your device. For iPhones and Android devices, you can open the settings app and select reset settings. Just make sure you back up first in case there are important settings you may lose. These are just a couple of examples of ways you can keep your phone zipping along even after several OS updates. For the full list, check out the article. If you have any tips of your own for speeding up a slow-as-snails clunker, please share!4,2 kVues1like1Commentaire
