I have the helix 400mbps download and 50mbps upload speed I recently connected my modem directly to my PS5 with Ethernet cable and for some reason I’m getting my download speeds but my uplod speeds fluctuate from 10 to 15 to 20 to 25. I used to be able to get 50 mbps like 2 months ago that was the last time I played my PS5 until now idk I tried resetting my router but it did not work is my modem broken please help thanks4,7 kVues0like4CommentairesFaster upload speed
I've posted this topic multiple times, and I will continue to do so until Videotron I hear any sort of acknowledgement from Videotron. Currently, upload speeds are capped at 50 mbps. This is unacceptably low for 2020, especially in a world where many professionals are forced to work from home given the current pandemic. When working a job that requires me to regularly upload artifacts that are several gigabytes in size, an operation that would take a few minutes in office takes closer to 30 minutes at home. It's not a matter of missing the technology, since DOCSIS 3.1 has started deployment 4 years ago. It's not for lack of competition, since Bell offers 1 gbps symmetric. It's not a matter of business vs personal, as I've looked into getting a business line for faster uploads, with no luck. At this point, I don't understand why Videotron is lagging behind on their speeds this badly. Upload is only going to get more and more important. Ideally, we'd be able to get symmetric gigabit from Videotron, but even increasing the upload speed to 200 or even 100 mbps would be a huge improvement.Résolu13 kVues4likes8CommentairesVideotron started DOCSIS 3.1 deployment 4 years ago. When can we expect faster upload?
DOCSIS 3.1 deployment started in 2016, and by now, every new installation should have a DOCSIS 3.1 capable modem, whether it's a Helix plan or not. DOCSIS 3.1 also supports upload speeds up to 1 Gbps. Given all this, when can we expect to actually see these sorts of speeds with Videotron? Right now, no matter how much you pay or how badly it's needed, you are not able to get more than 50 mbps upload. This is probably fine for a good portion of people, but given the pandemic, it's absolutely not fine for many software developers and content creators who are now forced to work from home. Uploads that would take only a few minutes in the office now take upwards of half an hour, completely gutting my productivity through something completely out of my control. This is especially embarassing when other ISPs are offering symmetric gigabit speeds, while videotron can't even offer gigabit in a single direction. You have the infrastructure in place, the technology already exists, when can we start expecting more modern speeds?4,1 kVues2likes1CommentaireHelix - Sharing bandwitdth between different computers
Since we are 2 persons working from home remotely, I'm looking for a way to equally seperate the bandwidth for our computers. I tried looking in the Helix Fi app andhttp://10.0.0.1/ but couldn't find anything related. Any help? Thanks!Résolu4,4 kVues0like1CommentaireWhen is videotron going to offer faster upload?
Videotron's best plans right now are capped at 50 mbps upload. Previously, this was somewhat annoying, but I could manage with it. Given the current status of COVID-19, and being forced to work from home, it is becoming almost unbearable. In my work, I often have to upload large files from my computer to the internet. Given videotron's limits, this cuts into my productivity greatly, and there is absolutely nothing I can do about it. It's honestly embarassing that the upload speeds are this slow in 2020, when companies like Telus and Bell are rolling out symetric 1gbps connections. I've tried talking to business deparments, residential, everything - they're all capped at 50 mbps up. So, I'd like to know if there is anyone at videotron looking into this, or if offering faster upload is even on their radar3,1 kVues1like0CommentaireI AM VERY WORRIED MY MODEM WAS NOT SUPPORTED BY VIDEOTRON
I AM A VIDETRON USER FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS NOW, SINCE I HAD MY SERVICES THEY HAVE CHANGED MY ROUTER TWICE BECAUSE IT FAILED BEFORE AND IT WAS REPLACED, AND AGAIN IT FAILED, THEY FIXED IT. SO I DECIDED TO BUY MYSELF A MODEM THAT ALLOWS TO HAVE FAST AND MORE CONVENIENT FOR THE SPEED I WAS GETTING THAN WHAT I WAS PAYING FOR, INSTEAD OF 120MB I WAS ONLY GETTING 60MB, SO I WAS LIKE MAYBE I SHOULD BUY MYSELF A HITRON 4582 WHICH WILL REPLACE THE ARRIS TM822 THEY GAVE ME, AND THEY REFUSED TO ALLOW E TO USE IT, TELLING ME I HAVE TO USE THEIR MODEM, AND ACCORDING TO FCC COMPLAINTS WE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO USE OUR MODEM UNLESS THEY CAN PROVE IT WILL HARM MY SERVICES OR THEIR NETWORK PROVIDED, HENCE THEY REFUSED, I PLACED A COMPLAIN HOPEFULLY THIS GET RESOLVED BECAUSE I AM NOT READY TO PAY EXTRA FOR SERVICE THAT WILL NOT WORK. SO VIDEOTRON EXPLAIN THIS TO ME OR SHOW ME A POLICY OR AN AGREEMENT THAT PROVES THAT I WILL BE VIOLATING ANY OF USER AGREEMENT OR ANY TERMS OF SERVICE, I AM NOT HAPPY AND I NEED PEOPLE TO KNOW ABOUT THIS.5,6 kVues0like1Commentaire
