S21 Ultra bought from Samsung Canada - will VoLTE and VoWiFi work on Videotron?
According to Samsung, yes, but they just want to sell phones. There was a time when carriers had restrictions and these 2 features were limited to the phones sold by them. I did get them however on a Samsung bought from another carrier, but that's not the same as from Samsung. Apparently the first 6 digits of IMEI might be used as a discriminator...is it still the case? To me this would violate the Wireless Code. I do have VoLTE enabled in Settings, LTE is selected (I'm usually on band 4 or 12) but I don't see what Samsung calls a "IMS Network Status Indicator" - I expect it is a "HD+" icon. Also, I have never seen a wideband codec in use, just AMR NB while on calls to other mobiles that support VoLTE. My old Mate 20 pro has always shown an HD icon. EDIT : I ran a quick test, with VOLTE enabled, data stays on LTE, without it, it drops to 4G. So it VoLTE works, it's just the indicator missing.Résolu4,8 kVues0like6Commentaires
