Freedom Mobile and Videotron network merger
I live in the southern suburbs of Ottawa, which has spotty at best reception from Videotron. With the acquisition of Freedom Mobile and the ability of Freedom subscribers to now use the Videotron network as a home network, does any one know when we will be able to use the Freedom network and when/if it will be integrated into one network?1,8 kVues0like0CommentaireReception lacking in new development, any ideas who to contact?
So I just noticed that Videotron has been running a ton of marketing material in the Ottawa region about Canada-wide reception. Also noticed that their coverage map says the area I'm in has LTE coverage. However, it's been pretty shoddy with terrible speeds and very high latencies in the neighborhood that I just moved to, suggesting to me that it's tower is quite far away. I should also say that no I don't live in the middle of nowhere (this neighborhood is quite established and has a sizeable population). Has anyone got any information on how to communicate this to tech support or open up a case explaining poor cell reception?Résolu4,9 kVues0like1CommentaireRe: LTE+ signal on Videotron's LTE network
LTE on PRTNR1 won't work in Ottawa as I think Rogers locks it down in the Ottawa region. I think this maybe due to Rogers not wanting to grant access to their LTE networks wherever Videotron has towers, since Videotron customers can roam on Rogers without any overages. I've been able to get LTE and LTE+ no problem on the PRTNR2 though, though of course you can't exceed 50% usage for three consecutive months8,5 kVues0like0CommentaireRe: VoLTE: ETA on if and when this will launch on Videotron
Could we get an update on if and when Videotron plans to roll out VOLTE to unlocked android phones? It seems unlocked iPhones that aren not from Videotron have no issue with this, so just wondering when this will also happen to compatible android phones not bought from Videotron. Thanks!4,4 kVues1like1CommentaireRe: LTE+ signal on Videotron's LTE network
So for anyone still interested, it seems like they have deployed LTE band 12 here in Ottawa (700mHz). I was hitting down speeds of around 44 Mbps and ups at around 11Mbps near the Tunney's Pasture area. I have only gotten the band 12 reading in this area. Everywhere else I go, it's usually band 4 and the occassional band 78,7 kVues1like0Commentaire
