Helix remote voice - how well does it work?
Hi everyone, My mother is 91 years old and almost blind. She lives in a seniors residence in Montreal. We are currently thinking of switching her to Helix because of the ability to use the microphone on the remote to change channels, etc. Can anyone tell me how well it works? I should add that if it shows text on the screen requiring confirmation or something, she won't be able to read it. Thank you. I have some other questions but I'm going to post them separately. She isn't completely blind and can still see things on the screen. Also she's not deaf and some TV channels have something called "described video" specifically for people with low vision. She simply has trouble finding the buttons on her remote but if she can switch channels by talking it will be easier for her. She is not technically savvy and is not interested in using a mobile device (already tried that).2,6 kVues0like2CommentairesHelix TV for my Mother - Can I support it remotely?
Hello, I am thinking of getting Helix for my mother who is 91 and almost blind; the main reason is for the voice remote which I think would make her life a lot easier. (I've asked another question about this elsewhere.) What I need to know is whether or not I will need to help her out by telephone often - I live an hour away so it's awkward to fix things that go wrong. Can anyone enlighten me about things that sometimes don't work properly - things that are easy to fix if you known what you're doing but not necessarily if you can't see. I'm thinking of things like - does the remote ever become unpaired? Does the box ever get out of sync with the TV i.e. one is on and the other is off? That kind of thing ... Thanks, Susan1,6 kVues0like0Commentaire
