Kids can bypass helix wifi lockout by forgetting then reconnecting to network.

Hello,

I’m having an issue where if I pause internet to a particular child’s device (iOS, PC, etc), they have figured out a way to simply sign on again as a new device. In assuming it’s by forgetting the wifi network then reconnecting.

Is there a way I can prevent this from happening? What is the point of having this feature if it can be so easily bypassed?

You're right—kids can bypass Helix WiFi lockouts by reconnecting as a new device, which defeats the purpose of parental controls. Bible Chat Ai

    To prevent this:
    - Use MAC address filtering to block unknown devices.
    - Enable device naming and profile locking in the Helix Fi app.
    - Set up manual device approval so new connections require admin permission.
    - Regularly audit connected devices and remove unauthorized ones.

Helix’s current system has limitations, but these steps can help reinforce control. More details are discussed in this Videotron community thread.
