Re: Static routes on the Helix Fi Gateway2 (Arris TG4482A)
Thanks, Jean-François! Sorry for the late reply, but I'm only seeing this now (I thought I'd be alerted when my post was answered, but I wasn't). Not the answer I wanted, but I understand it. I guess I'll try bridge mode, but I'll need to reconfigure several devices already connected. BTW, I thought I'd try a workaround with port forwarding, but for some reason it (the HelixFi app) aways fails with a "We're Having Some Trouble" message. I've tried this connected directly to the gateway. Cheers, -Paul3 kVues0like0CommentaireHelix Event Logs won't load
Hi, I wish to consult the logs on my Helix router. UnderTroubleshooting > Logs, I can download System Logs and Firewall Logs, for up to 90 days, and these load and can be downloaded no problem. But when I try to call up Event Logs, after giving the usual "This action may take more than one minute" message (and I accept), it says "Operation in Progress"... "This may take several seconds". And it spins, and spins, and spins, and nothing more happens. Finally, I get the message "Alert -Something went wrong, please try again". I've tried it in Edge, I've tried it in Chrome, I've dumped all my cookies, I've tried in "Guest Mode", but nothing works. Has anyone experienced this? Is there some other way to get logs? (A CLI interface would be awesome...) Thanks for any and all help, hints, or feedback!949Vues0like0CommentaireRe: Stingray channel numbers on Helix
So, 2 years later, and it doesn't look like theprod/dev team has seen fit to address the issue that a proper listing of Helix TV channels with numbers is not available as it is with Illico. Am I the only one needing this? (I doubt it, but maybe I'm the only one who's mentioned it). At present, the only way is to go to the "Modify your channel selection" (must be logged in, and the more generic "view channels" has no numbers), and click the "Details" of every single icon and copy from there; even so, some icons which contain multiple 'channels' (e.g. TSN, RDS) only pop up a list of the contained channels (TSN1+TSN2+TSN3 etc), no numbers. The "Listings" page seemed promising, but one cannot cut/paste from that page, and any channel also available on "Helix Go" just says that, no channel. Seems a simple thing to complile (and update, when there are changes) a straight-forward table showing channels and numbers, no?2,5 kVues0like1CommentaireRe: Reset Cisco 8642HD to play over the air (OTA) broadcasts from my antenna
"Allowed" by whom? This is MY box - PKP has no rights to it - and I'm not trying to rip anyone off, I just want to receive OTA broadcasts, which are free to all, paid for by advertising. BTW, with over 40 years in IT and electronics, I'm quite capable of re-flashing firmware, and physical mods... I'd hoped it wouldn't come to that, but am open to tips on how, if necessary!2,6 kVues0like0CommentaireRe: Reset Cisco 8642HD to play over the air (OTA) broadcasts from my antenna
Rhetorical question: What's ILlegal about doing whatI want withmy property thatI purchased? (Note, I did not purchase or rent it from Videotron; I bought it at FutureShop (remember them?)) The term "CableCARD" is new to me; thanks st0106, I now have something new to Google! 🙂2,6 kVues0like1CommentaireReset Cisco 8642HD to play over the air (OTA) broadcasts from my antenna
Hi! I have migrated from Illico to Helix. Of course, myCisco 8642HD, now rendered 'obsolete', no longer does anything except that when I boot, it says "Cable disconnected... [bla bla bla]... Press OK to watch programs recorded on this terminal". What I would like to do is to connect my outdoor UHF antenna to it, so that I can: a) feed its HDMI output to my home theater (which does not have a coax in), and b) PVR (record) shows. My current antenna installation can pull in 30 HD Digital stations (TRUE HD, not the compressed stuff we get over cable). Is there a way to achieve this? I have searched all over the 'Net, asked Google, Bing, GPT, etc., and have come up with nothing but unhelpful (read erroneous) info. Is/areTelnet and/or SSH available on the Helix Fi Gateway2 (Arris TG4482A)? I have a number of reasons for needing this, one of which would be to try to establish static routes, if this option is not available through the GUI or app (this refers to the question I asked here). Thanks!Résolu3,3 kVues0like1CommentaireStatic routes on the Helix Fi Gateway2 (Arris TG4482A)
Hi! Can static routes be set on the Helix Fi Gateway2 (an Arris TG4482A)? I have not found this on the router’s own internal web GUI, nor on the Helix Fi app. My application: I have an internal router behind the Helix Gateway, which serves up my main home network. I also have a [third] router (running a more powerful and flexible firmware than the other two), which serves and isolates devices like Roku, Amazon TV, Google Home, and other IoT devices. I currently have this connected to a LAN port of the internal router via its WAN port, which is a little backwards. I wish to connect it to the Helix Gateway (thus making it a 'peer' to the other router, with its WAN port on the same network as my second router's WAN port), but need some things to be routed to the 'internal' network(s), and vice-versa, as opposed to the default, which is the Internet. Thanks! P.S.:NOTE, I am NOT referring to port forwarding (or, of course, DMZ).Résolu6,2 kVues0like3CommentairesRe: Helix Gateway configuration questions
I have the same question the OP posed as #1, but was not answered, namely: can static routes be set on the Helix Fi Gateway2 (an Arris TG4482A)? Thank you, Patrick, for your response (as disappointing as it is), and for passing it on to the prod/dev team. Seems a pretty basic and simple thing to do, to produce and publish a page with your offerings. Not everyone can or wants to "talk to the remote", or hunt through a video guide (even if filtered). I'm aware, of course, of the manual approaches you've suggested, and where Stingray is on the "dial", I was just hoping for something simpler. Ah, well. C'est la vie!
