Meme ordi, meme borne, meme distance...27 kVues0like4CommentairesRe: unable to connect Helix router through DNS server
IMO you are better with a separate router and turn off the WIFI on Helix. With the arrival of WIFI6, if you have devices (recent phones for example or even recent laptops) you get much faster WIFI. Also you can tailor your WIFI to your needs. This means that you can create a mesh network if you need one and can change the DNS. I personally use an ASUS router with WIFI6 and have setup Cloudflare's DNS as I rely on extremely short latency. Now if Helix upload speeds could move up so I can actually get good Teams calls...5,7 kVues1like2CommentairesRe: Room Switch
I can't believe that no one from Videotron has answered you yet... Anyway, moving your Helix comes with a set of problems. The signal needs to be in a certain range on Helix (input from Cable) and with low interference in order to work. This means that switching to a new port you run the risk of not getting service if the signal isn't within the expected range. A tech verifies this when they install your Helix butr they do not check the other ports. Also, splitters (the cheap ones especially) can actually trim some frequencies. That was not so much of a problem when the analog cable was rampant but with digital signals and the very high frequencies used now, it is much more of an issue. You can check where you signal is split and see if you can replace the splitter with a better, more recent one but there is no guarantee that it will work or work reliably. Only a tech with the right meter will be able to make sure you get the proper signal at a new port.4,1 kVues0like0CommentaireRe: Faster upload speed
Is this a joke? Because we are FORCED to work from home and FORCED to pay for our services that we use normally for home consumption, you want to FORCE us to buy the business packages in order to alleviate the cap limit you put in place that is already below the similar service by Bell? That's Videotron's best answer? Not something like "We value our client's expectations and strive to give the best service at the best price and to be the best services company in Quebec (Because in Canada, you are not present). We will look at how we can provide a better value to our clients. You know, 400/50 is THE only option for Helix clients... There is no higher tier... we cannot GET a better service because your best service is just a bit under par. However, the response tolp0101 issue is very much sub par. I suppose we'll have to go back to Bell to get SOME speed... I know their service sucks... but to be honest, since Helix happened... i'm not convinced that Videotron's service is much better. What you need to understand folks... is that the bid Videotron makes is to erase Illico, move everyone to Helix and try and compete a little better with Bell's offering... However the backbone of Videotron just isn't capable to provide gigabit internet to all it's clients. If 25% of Videotron's clients chose gigabit ... the backbone would collapse. Bell has a resiliency of 50% at this point. You just need to make sure you never need to call them for help.11 kVues1like0CommentaireRe: Much faster upload speeds
I hear you. With WFH being the norm now, 50mbs for Teams just doesn't cut it. Reliability of my calls since I took Xfin... I mean Helix has dramatically dropped. Videotron, you are significantly behind. Bell has you by the B as far as network speed (and reliability on Fibe). I did pay for the Helix hardware but... it is not a question of price anymore... I may go back to Bell just because your service is SO sub-par.6,9 kVues1like1Commentaire
