Réception 3G forfait international
Bonjour, j’ai essayé le forfait international pour la première fois à Barcelone. J’ai constaté que la majorité du temps j’étais sur le 3G, et ce même si je sélectionne manuellement les réseaux. Parfois j’étais LTE, mais la 3G revenait toujours. J’ai un iphone 11 … et oui LTE était sélectionné. J’ai plusieurs amis et membres de ma famille qui ont ce plan et eux sont LTE. Est-ce mon téléphone ou bien cela dépend juste du réseau espagnol ? On s’entend je n’étais pas en campagne.
Canada-International plan - First Impressions
Speed in Europe on partner networks (at least in Germany, Netherlands and Belgium) is downgraded from 5G to LTE, due to partner agreements not optimized yet. (as tested on business trips April 2024 and June/July 2024). This has finally been disclosed to me by Videotron customer service after several support calls. I've done side-by-side tests with my colleagues on the same major networks (T-Mobile, O2, Vodaphone) who have SIM cards from those providers and they are getting 5G and I'm consistently getting only LTE. I've even done this comparison test inside the cell phone providers stores. To my knowledge, only in France, does Videotron have the agreement for 5G. When I was originally considering the Videotron Canada-International plan, none of the sales literature or fine print discloses this fact. Videotron customer service advised me they are working on getting 5G from the partner networks, but would not provide me a time-line of when it would happen, nor would they agree to pro-actively inform me of the progress.
Incoming text messages abroad
I am currently abroad in France and was wondering if incoming text messages from Canada would cost me money. I foundthissupport page that says that text messages are 30¢/message but doesn't specify if that also applies to incoming text massages like it does for the roaming inside the US. I also foundthissupport page that says incoming text messages are free, but it's for Videotron Business so I'm not sure if it also applies for non-business clients. Any help with this is appreciated, Thanks!
