I live in a suburb of Ottawa and If I don't enable data roaming, I can't use data in the south end of the burbs. Am I right in thinking that enabling and using data roaming doesn't incur any additional costs with Videotron? And why is Videotron's coverage so bad in the south of Ottawa?2,3 kVues0like1CommentaireLong time client feeling completely ignored

I'm wondering if voLTE only works betweens members of the same carrier. The only time I seem to have an hd call is when I'm speaking to another videotron customer. Same goes for other people I know. They only get hd calling when talking to another customer of their phone company. Is this the case or am I doing something wrong? Is voLTE compatible between any voLTE enabled devices regardless of carrier? Or is it only compatible between members of the same carrier?3 kVues0like1CommentaireHorrible service during power outage
Hi, This past friday my neighbourhood got hit by a thunderstorm. Nothing unexpected during a summer heat wave. During that storm we lost power at my house. This outage lasted about 7 hours. The Question I have is that as soon as the power went out (6:21 pm), I lost all data on all my devices (both my wife's phone and mine). While I still had service, and I could make a voice call anything else was questinoable. Text messages were hit and miss if people got them, MMS messages did not go and we most certainly couldn't use any true data. We also rebooted both devcies several times. I can understand that under an extended outage service could be impacted (tower batteries die etc etc), but to loose all data instantly is something I've never experienced before with any of my other carriers. For what it's worth I'm in Barrhaven Ontario (a Suburb of Ottawa) and the phones were reporting that they were on Videotron not a partner network. While internet is not a critical part of life, it tends to be the go to option for getting updates on power outages and bad weather status's. Can someone explain to me the cuase of this ? and is this something I can expect as normal operation with Videotron ? When I roam on to a partner network (usually partner1), i sometimes get a "x" on my signal bar. it works for text and phone calls, but not for data. I have to restart my phone 5-6 times before the "x" goes away and the data works. I have a Nexus 6P and it is fully up to date. What is going on?Résolu23 kVues0like32CommentairesData usage with data turned off
My daughter's phone is talk and text only, so it has the data turned off (we learned this because she is using my old phone and the data was on...turned it off after about an hour). It still seems to be using a bit of data on a daily basis, though. Small amounts, such as 0.1MB on one day, 1MB on another. What could be causing this? She is arguing that texting where there isn't WiFi will use data, but I don't think so. What can I check? We've checked several times that data hasn't been turned on and it's always off, so either something is turning it on and off, or there is another problem.Résolu6,2 kVues0like2Commentaires
