14 SujetsCanada-International plan - First Impressions
Speed in Europe on partner networks (at least in Germany, Netherlands and Belgium) is downgraded from 5G to LTE, due to partner agreements not optimized yet. (as tested on business trips April 2024 and June/July 2024). This has finally been disclosed to me by Videotron customer service after several support calls. I've done side-by-side tests with my colleagues on the same major networks (T-Mobile, O2, Vodaphone) who have SIM cards from those providers and they are getting 5G and I'm consistently getting only LTE. I've even done this comparison test inside the cell phone providers stores. To my knowledge, only in France, does Videotron have the agreement for 5G. When I was originally considering the Videotron Canada-International plan, none of the sales literature or fine print discloses this fact. Videotron customer service advised me they are working on getting 5G from the partner networks, but would not provide me a time-line of when it would happen, nor would they agree to pro-actively inform me of the progress.874Vues0like0CommentaireData roaming?
I live in a suburb of Ottawa and If I don't enable data roaming, I can't use data in the south end of the burbs. Am I right in thinking that enabling and using data roaming doesn't incur any additional costs with Videotron? And why is Videotron's coverage so bad in the south of Ottawa?2,3 kVues0like1CommentaireTour LTE du partenaire 2
:DRésolu5 kVues0like1CommentaireCan't program conditional call forwarding!!
I am trying to program a number for conditional call forwarding. However, the system is not allowing me to do so. Here are the details: I recently deactivated Videotron's voicemail on my Pixel 2XL. Until that time, I was able to program a different number for conditional call forwarding (CFW). Now, everytime I try to activate CFW, it gives me an error message "connection problem or invalid MMI code" or "Call settings error: Unexpected response from network". I have call forwarding as one of the options I chose for my plan. My phone gives me the option of changing the number, but the system gives me the above error message. I just got off the phone with tech support (Videotron). The person was telling me at first that Videotron does not offer CFW (although that is basically what the voicemail option is). When I explained that it used to work until I deactivated Videotron's voicemail, he then me that CFW is only available for those who have voicemail activated. Do I have any options (aside from subscribing to their voicemail that I don't use)?3,1 kVues0like1Commentaire07-12-2017 09:42 AM We're looking for the best techno gift to put under the tree: who can help us?
Hello, Have you found all your gifts already? I invite you to channel your inner Santa Claus and give us your suggestions of the best techno gifts! Who knows? Videotron's little elves could be generous with those who comment on this post. thanks iosman4,9 kVues0like2CommentairesHow is Videotron mobile in Ottawa???
I have had it with Bell mobile. Lately I noticed their customer service (or lack there of) has been declining quickly. The only reason why I stayed this long with them was because I had an awesome plan that was grandfathered in and I had 2 other lines (mom and her sister) that I would have had to move over too. In the past two week I had a lot of BS that made me want to take a look at competitors and see what I can get. Videotron has a great deal if I bring my own phone and is only $5 more a month but I'm not sure how their reception or services is in Ontario since its a Quebec company. They also give an additional discount if I have 3 lines which is even better! Does anyone have any insights on how Videotron is overall?5,8 kVues0like3CommentairesCell network selection
So I'm not sure if something has changed with Videotrons arrangements with other providers, but I notice now that when I leave the ottawa area, my phone is connecting to "Videotron Prtner 1", which I believe is Rogers.... however I never seem to get LTE anymore. If I take the network selection off Automatic and manually select"Videotron Prtner 2", all is good. however I then need to manually switch it back to videotron once back in my network zone. Anyone else experiencing this or somethign similar?Résolu6,1 kVues0like3CommentairesDaily Traveller Pass / International Roaming not working in India
I'm traveling in India, and cannot get any mobile service for my Videotron Daily Traveller Pass. I've contacted support, and learned that the only Indian carrier they have an agreement with in-country is Tata Docomo. Despite being in the middle of a large city supposedly in that carrier's territory, I cannot get service, and that carrier does not show up as an available Cellular Network in settings / Cellular / Network Selection. Has anyone had success using Videotron roaming in India? What's the trick? iPhone 6S Plus, iOS 12.1.2 The carriers I can see currently are: IDEA 404 999 CellOne IND airtel Vodafone IN Reliance IND-JIO None of those provide service when selected manually. The last word from Videotron support was: get a local SIM card. Seriously.Résolu8,5 kVues0like4Commentaires
