Before you leave, download the site map on your mobile phone, indicating where the Carnival activities will be taking place. This map will help you get an idea of the surrounding amenities once you are onsite. It also shows walking time between certain places, which can help you better plan your route. Pro tip: To keep your cell phone battery going for as long as possible, check out our tips on how to protect your phone from the cold.
3. Use shuttle buses to travel between sites
Every day of the Carnival, hop aboard the Videotron shuttle buses to travel between the sites. It’s free! The three stops:
- Corner of Artigny and Jacques-Parizeau
- Place de Paris
- Espace 400 building
Shuttle buses run every 30 minutes between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. See the full circuit.
4. Obtain a Child Identification Ticket
With the Lost Child program, you can get a ticket with your name and phone number. This ticket will allow you to be contacted more easily if your child ever gets lost on the site. Show up at the information kiosk or box office to take advantage of it.
5. Warm up and refuel at Videotron Deps
New this year, the Videotron Deps will serve you attentively throughout the festival. You’ll find them at the Scotiabank Sculpture Garden and the Bonhomme Palace in the Loto-Québec Zone. These kiosks are the perfect place to dry your mitts, recharge your phone, and warm your hands before heading out for more fun! Useful items such as hand warmers, lip balm, gloves, tissues, mitten clips, and more will also be available. And because the weather can be fickle, ponchos will be available in case of rain.
6. Bring a sled
Do you have young children? Swap your stroller for a sled! Your commute will be easier if the streets are snowy.
7. Book your restaurants
If you would like to eat at a restaurant near the Carnival site, we advise booking a table ahead of time. A reservation means you’ll avoid waiting in line for a table or being turned away from a full house.
Take the time to have fun
There is so much to see and do at the Québec Winter Carnival that you might be tempted to run from one activity to another. Our final tip: take the time to fully enjoy the event! The fresh air, snow, entertainment, festive atmosphere—the Carnival has everything you need to experience the magic of winter. Have a great stay in the Snow Capital of the World!
