Overcharged internet without notification
Hello, I'd like to share my experience with Videotron internet. First of all, we have been a user of the internet of Videotron since 2016, which has been long enough to be a loyal customer. Over the years Videotron kept changing their internet plans/monthly rates, which got cheaper. However, since 2022 somehow we have been overcharged monthly amounts of the most expensive internet plan GIGA while our plan has been Internet 60 (minimum cheapest plan). We have never received any notice of rate changes from Videotron, finding those overcharges by chance. So we contacted customer service and asked them check our account, and they immediately found those unfair charges and modified the next bill amount. As for all the overcharges, they said they would contact us again less than 48 hours, but we had No call, No answer, No letter from them. How can we ask them refund us fairly?Overcharged02-05-2025Initiate31Vues0like3CommentairesHow to switch Bell modem to Helix Pod
Long story short, I’m still subscribed to both internet services (Bell and Vidéotron). I still have the Helix Pod at home and the Bell router is what’s currently connected. I was told Vidéotron that I could simply unplug the bell router and connect the Helix Pod and that it should work since I’m still in service with Vidéotron. However the coax cable converts into a wall plate that has 2 telephone wires that provides the internet which the Bell router uses. Would I be able to turn this into a coax port at home or would I have to call a technician? Thanks.Idknotcreative02-05-2025Initiate2,3 kVues0like2CommentairesWifi 5G Download & Upload speeds
I'm making a comparison between Videotron & another ISP, and I'm wondering what the average Download / Upload speeds are with Videotron's 5G WiFi residential service. Yes I'm aware of WiFi 6, but not for this question. ThanksShaggySkunk30-04-2025Initiate1,4 kVues0like1CommentaireLow resolution streaming hockey on 4K monitor
Why, when I stream hockey on my pc, is the resolution so terrible. My monitor is a 32" 4K model but the picture quality is awful and does not even look to be 720P. In 2023, this is unacceptable in my opinion.JRG5528-04-2025Initiate1,5 kVues0like1CommentaireHelix Fi 2 - Canaux Wifi
Merci!RésoluMageron25-04-2025Officer67Vues0like3CommentairesOutage
Poor communication from Videotron on when internet service will be restored. Statements like working on it, and may get to you, or even we are busy with calls just sucks. No platitude please, just real hard facts about when service will be restored in Rockland, Ontario. Forced to use data on phone to continue doing my work is going to cost me lots of money. When will the INTERNET BE AVAILABLE in Rockland, Ontario. Specific known facts pleaseJmsabourin21-04-2025Initiate847Vues0like2Commentaires- SHM19-04-2025Initiate2,6 kVues0like1Commentaire
Putting a web server in the DMZ
Eskimo00708-04-2025Officer158Vues1like12CommentairesCustom subnet
Hello, I was trying to setup my second router to be part of the same network as my Helix Router but when I tried entering the subnet 255.255.0.0, it does not let me. I can only choose either 255.255.255.0 or 255.255.255.128 which does not work for me. Is there a way I can choose my own subnet mask? Via SSH or telnet maybe? Hello, I've used my Helix Fi app to forward ports. For some reason, some ports do open and others don't. I.e. on the same device, I have 9443 open (and showing as such on various online tools) but then 443, 80, 82 and 8221 are marked as open by Helix Fi, but the same online tools are showing them as closed. Any reason why? I've looked online and haven't seen a mention of Vidéotron blocking those specific ports. Thank youDroppisalt07-04-2025Initiate430Vues0like2CommentairesGame slow down on Helix Fi - solution.
When playing Call of Duty with a new Helix Fi modem. Things would work but after about half an hour, the game would start lagging until finally it was unplayable - this is still the case as I tested this again yesterday and the problem persists. I could not find any way to set uplink QOS on the Helix Fi so finally I put it in Bridge Mode and connected my own Netgear R6400 router. This worked very well and I do not actually have to set any uplink QOS. My question is why there is there no discussion about gaming issues with the Helix Fi modem/router here on the forum. I could not find any solution or even discussion. I've only found Redit discussions that did not offer solutions. I'm curious why this is not a bigger issue. Are other Helix users gaming - in particular COD - without issues?Résolugreg07-04-2025Initiate52Vues0like1CommentaireHelix Bandwidth Monitoring
Hi, We have just switched to Helix and I find frustrating the fact that the Arris TG4482a they use does not provide any sort of performance monitoring like bandwidth usage in real time or logs that are giving a little bit more than an empty page for the system log for example. Anybody was able to extract bandwidth usage or logs in realtime through UPNP or any other means?RésoluBougePasJteTue03-04-2025Initiate26Vues0like1Commentairemonitoring Bandwidth usage of devices
Hi all, I am totally new to Videotron home internet and i am so far so happy with it, specially the speed! my service was installed yesterday morning, today i checked the usage at 7 am in the mobile app and it says 10 GB of download (!) which 5 of it was between midnight and 4am which doesn't seem right as long as i didn't run any updates or ... during the night. I just want to know if there is any way i make sure what was that weird internet usage about? maybe a trick that i can monitor all of my devices' bandwidth usage? regards soheilRésolusoheil-hd27-03-2025Initiate8,4 kVues0like3Commentaires
