Is bridge mode really passthru?
I just switched from regular modem from videotron to Helix. I have put helix in bridge mode. Since then, I am not able to connect to my FTP server at home. When connecting the helix portal via the web interface, nothing is related to firewall. And since I am in bridge mode, I cannot use the Helix app. So Is there anything I am missing?hugoleveille12-19-2024Initiate12Vues0like1CommentaireAppels frauduleux
Merci.internetique12-17-2024Spartan8Vues0like1CommentaireCan I manually change DNS configuration on Helix?
Hello, I am looking to manually configure the DNS settings on my Helix router, but this seems to NOT be an option. This is to improve my home network security to point at Canadian Shield DNS servers. Will Videotron provide users with this ability, or will in be forced to find an ISP that allows this? Just want to share my experience with Helix and Google Wifi mesh network as when I was subscribing no one seemed to know if it would work or not. The short answer is it works perfectly - but requires some manual adjustments. 1. Set-up your helix wifi modem router using the app 2. Connect your Main Google wifi point to the Helix router ethernet with the red line marking 3. Restart the helix modem and then restart the Google wifi main point 4. Both HELIX and your Google wifi networks will now work at the same time which means you do not need to migrate all of your devices to a new network 5. Bridge Mode to ONLY have your google wifi network (and close the Helix wifi signal and simply use as a cable modem). I tried this and for some reason internet speeds on the google network were substantially slower than if I left it in normal mode. So after experimenting I now leave the HELIX with BRIDGE MODE DISABLED – so you will have a choice of either Helix or Google Network for Wifi. 6. YOU CAN connect your TV Helix devices to the Google Network. I have one TV connected to the Google wifi network and one to Helix wifi - and both work perfectly. Hope this helps others.northernpixels11-29-2024Initiate5,6 kVues2likes5CommentairesHelix login
Foe several weeks I've been unable to login to my helix account. Different browsers, clear cache, mobile site, etc....nothing works. I can access my customer center for my mobile account, though. This message appears everytime. "Unexpected error when handling authentication request to identity provider."RichGee11-28-2024Initiate428Vues0like1CommentaireReally bad ping to Mihoyo Game servers
My ping to Mihoyo (Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero) servers went from 30ms to 120-150ms since 1 month ago. My friends who are with another provider have no problems. I already restarted the modem/router and it did not fix the problem. Using a VPN fix the routing issue but this is not a solution. From what I've seen from other Videotron users, I am not the only one with the same problem. I messaged support on Twitter and they said not our problem and closed the ticket. If the problem is not on their side then why does the other ISP have no issues. This had been going on for a month!ZeroKaion11-28-2024Squire355Vues0like3CommentairesHow can I change the DNS servers used on my Helix Fi?
Morning, I was wondering how I could change the primary and secondary DNS servers on my Helix Fi via the web gateway (10.0.0.1)? Currently when I go to (Gateway > Connection > Videotron Network) I can see the two DNS servers used, but I cannot edit them.RésoluMarcinRak11-15-2024Chevalier3,6 kVues0like3Commentaireswifi configuration
Hi folks, my wifi gateway page in my browser no longer allows me to manage my wifi configuration. It says " Wi-Fi Mode, Security Mode, Channel Selection, Channel Mode, and Channel Bandwidth are being managed automatically to help optimize your home Wi-Fi network and improve Wi-Fi coverage. To edit your Wi-Fi Network Name & Network password, please download the Videotron Helix Fi app or visit helixfi.videotron.com . " I tried adding a screenshot of this message for clarity but was getting a permission denied error upon uploading an image from my pc. How can i change this to allow me to configure my wifi network manually? I don't want it to be configured automatically and scouring the help information and forums has led me to very little info. This was not the case when i last checked a few months ago. Thank you.Résolupotema11-14-2024Initiate10 kVues0like14CommentairesIP already reserve for a different device
I have a device that require to always have the same IP, as such I did a reservation but I ended up reserving the IP for the wrong device by mistake. I removed the other device reserved IP and putting it back in DHCP mode but now I can't assign the reserve IP to my device as it keep saying that this IP is already reserved for another device. I have a lease time of 8 hours and it's been over 48h since the mistake. I can't find anywhere else to release this reserved IP.Delegaia11-12-2024Initiate339Vues0like1CommentaireIs Helix TV available when in Bridge Mode?
Apologies if this has been asked before, but i cant find anything in the search bar. If i move to Helix, but want to keep and use my personal router, can i still watch and use Helix TV? It sounds like if i want to use my own router, i need to switch the Helix Router to 'Bridge Mode' correct? But if i do, will that disable my ability to watch helix TV? thanks in advancevarunaX111-06-2024Squire2,1 kVues0like4CommentairesPort forwarding using ip adress - Helix Fi
Hi, I'm trying to portforward a port to a server running linux. I know for a fact the device is connected to the internet via my helix router. However, it doesnt show up in the list of connected device on the app. Therefore when i try to create a port forwarding rule my server doesnt show in the possible devices to forward to. I, very annoyingly, cant just enter the ip adress to port forward to. Is there a workaround to this badly designed system? Or is there a way to use an ip adress when setting up port forwarding? Edit: The server doesnt use an IPv6 adress. I can ping the gateway from the server without any packet losstyrede11-05-2024Initiate2,6 kVues0like3CommentairesNew Helix Customer
Hi, I just switched to Helix from Bell and all my devices are working on the new wifi except the following: Google home mini Blink cameras Sonos wireless speakers In all of the above, it asks to connect to the product's own temporary network in order to configure the wifi and then it fails every time. Any help would be appreciated!ChamblyUser11-04-2024Initiate1,8 kVues0like3CommentairesForwarding ports in Helix Fi app not actually forwarding them
Hello, I've used my Helix Fi app to forward ports. For some reason, some ports do open and others don't. I.e. on the same device, I have 9443 open (and showing as such on various online tools) but then 443, 80, 82 and 8221 are marked as open by Helix Fi, but the same online tools are showing them as closed. Any reason why? I've looked online and haven't seen a mention of Vidéotron blocking those specific ports. Thank youDroppisalt10-30-2024Initiate332Vues0like0Commentaire
