I have a couple of devices (for example, an LG tablet and a PS Vita) that try to connect to my Helix network but are unable to - and it appears that it's the router that's not allowing the connection. Why would this be? Any suggestions to force the connection?Solved17KViews0likes9CommentsSlow Wi-Fi Speeds... Shouldn't Videotron provide DFS-enabled routers where required?
On the 5GHz band, I'm looking at speeds of around 5Mbps (less on the 2.4GHz band) on a 120Mbps connection when I'm less than 10m away from my router. But with so many networks in my area running on the same frequency bands... I'm not surprised. I would really like to see Videotron provide routers with DFS support in areas where they are required to provide effective service. You really can't call these routers "Cutting Edge" if I have no choice but to buy a new router with DFS support to provide effective WiFi coverage for my home.Solved10KViews0likes3CommentsSlow sometimes, sometimes no internet access in the other room !
Hello, I have the videotron zyxel router with the 400mbps connection, everything works near the router but when I move to the next room, the signal is weak and sometimes no access at all until I turn my wifi on and off again..Solved8.7KViews0likes3CommentsHelix internet with modem other than Helix Gateway?
Hi, I want to subscribe to helix 400mbit internet, which would of course require the purchase of a helix gateway. Helix gateway is basically the Arris/Technicolor XB6. Based on comments from XB6 users in the US (comcast) and Canada (rogers and shaw) i would rather use a modem other than the XB6. - with bridge mode on, MOCA doesn't work - with bridge mode on, wifi doesn't work.... for the user. The modem still broadcasts 4 hidden wifi networks that cannot be disabled (2 in 2.4ghz, 2 in 5ghz) that add to wifi congestion/interference. Some say this is needed for tv functionality, but I will never subscribe to the tv service, so why can't i turn it off? Question Is there any other type of modem that can be used with the Helix 400mbit service? Ideally I'd be looking for something that is modem only. Don't care if I need to buy it, I just need it to work.7.3KViews0likes1Comment
