Devices cannot connect to Helix
I have a couple of devices (for example, an LG tablet and a PS Vita) that try to connect to my Helix network but are unable to - and it appears that it's the router that's not allowing the connection. Why would this be? Any suggestions to force the connection?Solved17KViews0likes9Comments
5060 inbound blocked / can't voip anymore with Zyxel router
Hi, just installed the Zyxell modem; turned off the firewall features; unticked the DHCP option 125 This is the sole & main router in the network All my voip phones continue to work but my work phone; which I guess is more "secured" (not too sure but I think its tls 1.2) It simply wont register (its got an IP just fine, I can ping 8.8.8.8 with the built in tool, etc.) If i replace the router with my good old DIR-825 running DD-WRT; all is well. Problem is my dir825 is quite old, and wanted to leverage better Wifi performance of the Zyxell. Any ideas ?Solved11KViews1like3Comments
Looking to leave Videotron, can I use my Helix 2 Borne as a router with another company's modem
I can't find any mentions of this anywhere... How am I able to set up my helix 2 borne as a router only? I know about bridge mode but that is if I want to use another router and use the helix 2 as a modem. If I leave Vidéotron will the modem portion of the router stop working as the service is cancelled and the router will keep working? or will the whole thing not work as I am no longer with Vidéotron? Slow Wi-Fi Speeds... Shouldn't Videotron provide DFS-enabled routers where required?
On the 5GHz band, I'm looking at speeds of around 5Mbps (less on the 2.4GHz band) on a 120Mbps connection when I'm less than 10m away from my router. But with so many networks in my area running on the same frequency bands... I'm not surprised. I would really like to see Videotron provide routers with DFS support in areas where they are required to provide effective service. You really can't call these routers "Cutting Edge" if I have no choice but to buy a new router with DFS support to provide effective WiFi coverage for my home.Solved10KViews0likes3Comments
