76 TopicsIssue with HELIX Recording Playback
With Helix, do all recorded programs start from the beginning when you play them again? I could swear that if you played a recorded show and paused it after X minutes, changed the channel and then came back to watch the recorded program, it would start from where you paused, not from the beginning. It is not doing that anymore. Was there a firmware update that changed this? I know for a fact that it was not always like this because I would record a sporting event and play it while watching another live show by going back and forth between the two. When I went back to play the recorded sporting event, it would play from where I paused. But now it always starts from the beginning of the recording.586Views2likes5CommentsChannel surfing with Helix A must!
Hello, I know im not the first to complain but It cant hurt to keep this alive! I contacted support at least 4 months ago regarding this issue and still , nothing has been done. How can you sell a television system that doesn not allow you to surf your own channels???!!! Im getting tierd of using the guide to look for something to watch. I wish I took advantage of the 30day money back program cause now im stuck with 500$ worth of useless outside of a videotron environment equipment, non VPN router, and 2 tv terminals. On a side note, can you use this equipment for anything, like the tv terminals seem to be a raspberry Pi type system, can I format them and use them to my liking? And the router.. is that useable as a router off the videotron network?Solved9.9KViews2likes10CommentsHelix Modem/Router Making a Constant Humming Noise
I have just switched to Helix Internet service since last week. I have notriced the Helix modem/router makes a constant humming sound. It isn't loud but since the room is always quiet, it is easily heard. It's annoying since it never ends and has a bit of high pitch into it. I am wondering if your modem/router also makes this noise or perhaps my device is faulty? I appreciate your repsonse. Thank you.Solved15KViews2likes11CommentsPort forwarding using ip adress - Helix Fi
Hi, I'm trying to portforward a port to a server running linux. I know for a fact the device is connected to the internet via my helix router. However, it doesnt show up in the list of connected device on the app. Therefore when i try to create a port forwarding rule my server doesnt show in the possible devices to forward to. I, very annoyingly, cant just enter the ip adress to port forward to. Is there a workaround to this badly designed system? Or is there a way to use an ip adress when setting up port forwarding? Edit: The server doesnt use an IPv6 adress. I can ping the gateway from the server without any packet loss3KViews1like6CommentsSafari and https://helix.videotron.com
Hi, Are any of you experiencing issues with viewing Helix on the safari browser? When I view the video is blank after 30 seconds and never comes back. Audio continues but no video. This is for all channels. Works fine with Firefox.Solved2.6KViews1like2CommentsJune 15, 2022, switch from the illico TV app to Helix TV
Don't forget that as of tomorrow morning (June 15, 2022), illico subscribers will have to make the switch to the Helix TV app to listen to their content on mobile or on the web. If you're looking for more information to help you with this change, you can find it here. And you're probably wondering what are the advantages of the new application. Well, with the Helix TV app, you can: Download your content before you leave home and watch it wherever you are with the Download and Go option. Stream your content to any screen, even a TV, wherever you are.3.6KViews1like2CommentsTechnical questions about moving to Helix
I've been considering moving to Helix and have a few questions: - I have Videotron phone service through my Arris TM822 Cable modem - does the Helix unit have a battery backup as well for phone service? - I would like to put the Helix gateway in Bridge mode as I have a high end commercial grade router and wifi setup; does the Helix gateway provide a true public IP address in bridge mode or is giving out a private RFC1918 IP address? I would like to avoid double NATting. - In Bridge mode, is native IPv6 available? - If the technician were to give me the equipment to install myself and replace my TM822, would they also provide the security socket removal tool to remove the security sleeve from the coax? - Are the security sleeves still required with phone service? - I currently have 60/10 with my TM822 modem; would it be possible to upgrade to the 100mb Helix plan with my current equipment? - What is the current upload speed offered with the 100mb Helix plan? It is not listed on the website! Thanks!Solved9.5KViews1like5CommentsRequest to get GO Apps for Helix users
I switched from bell to videotron, with the promise to have a better experience. The internet so far is great, no complaints, also the tv system works really good. But I have another tv with an Apple TV and I was surprised to see that none of the apps work with videotron/helix (ctv, citytv, global, fx) on bell I used to have them for free, given that I have them on my channels choices. It’s also not available a Helix app for the Appletv, and the iPhone app doesn’t allow to airplay the content.5.4KViews1like3Comments
