Hello everyone; I'm hoping that someone in this community might be able to help me out. My problem: I'm unable to login to the HELIX Gateway using the default credentials. I have tried: Username: admin / Password: password Username: admin / Password: the password under the HELIX terminal I have looked up the vendor's model with all sorts of default username/password combinations. It simply does not work! I want to be able to login to http://10.0.0.1 to have full control of my network, for example: I want to enable MAC filtering I want to fix my VPN problem I'm really frustrated with the service I received during the installation of my HELIX service about a month ago. The technician completely ignored my request about logging into the HELIX Gateway. He said "you don't need that, just use the HELIX Fi app on your phone". I'm sorry but that's not good enough! I'm paying enough money to have this service. I have called Videotron about my issue. They said the only real fix is to reset the gateway to its factory settings. However, this really scares me. What guarantee do I have that it's going to work properly? I'm worried about reconnecting all the devices in my network. I'm even more worried that perhaps my HELIX Gateway is faulty. I would really like to hear from you guys and girls out there. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? Can anyone provide me with the exact steps to reset my gateway to its factory settings? I would really appreciate your help and feedback. Thank you all.37KViews0likes2CommentsDevices cannot connect to Helix
I have a couple of devices (for example, an LG tablet and a PS Vita) that try to connect to my Helix network but are unable to - and it appears that it's the router that's not allowing the connection. Why would this be? Any suggestions to force the connection?Solved17KViews0likes9CommentsHelix Modem/Router Making a Constant Humming Noise
I have just switched to Helix Internet service since last week. I have notriced the Helix modem/router makes a constant humming sound. It isn't loud but since the room is always quiet, it is easily heard. It's annoying since it never ends and has a bit of high pitch into it. I am wondering if your modem/router also makes this noise or perhaps my device is faulty? I appreciate your repsonse. Thank you.Solved14KViews2likes11CommentsLooking to leave Videotron, can I use my Helix 2 Borne as a router with another company's modem
I can't find any mentions of this anywhere... How am I able to set up my helix 2 borne as a router only? I know about bridge mode but that is if I want to use another router and use the helix 2 as a modem. If I leave Vidéotron will the modem portion of the router stop working as the service is cancelled and the router will keep working? or will the whole thing not work as I am no longer with Vidéotron? I've been considering moving to Helix and have a few questions: - I have Videotron phone service through my Arris TM822 Cable modem - does the Helix unit have a battery backup as well for phone service? - I would like to put the Helix gateway in Bridge mode as I have a high end commercial grade router and wifi setup; does the Helix gateway provide a true public IP address in bridge mode or is giving out a private RFC1918 IP address? I would like to avoid double NATting. - In Bridge mode, is native IPv6 available? - If the technician were to give me the equipment to install myself and replace my TM822, would they also provide the security socket removal tool to remove the security sleeve from the coax? - Are the security sleeves still required with phone service? - I currently have 60/10 with my TM822 modem; would it be possible to upgrade to the 100mb Helix plan with my current equipment? - What is the current upload speed offered with the 100mb Helix plan? It is not listed on the website! Thanks!Solved9.5KViews1like5CommentsHow many devices Helix Internet allows connected at the same time?
Hi community, I've been looking for this info in Videotron pages without success, I wonder if you can help me. I have been thinking about switching to Helix Internet, but we are a big family, how many devices maximum does Helix internet allow connected at the same time? Thanks!Solved8.3KViews0likes3CommentsHelix internet with modem other than Helix Gateway?
Hi, I want to subscribe to helix 400mbit internet, which would of course require the purchase of a helix gateway. Helix gateway is basically the Arris/Technicolor XB6. Based on comments from XB6 users in the US (comcast) and Canada (rogers and shaw) i would rather use a modem other than the XB6. - with bridge mode on, MOCA doesn't work - with bridge mode on, wifi doesn't work.... for the user. The modem still broadcasts 4 hidden wifi networks that cannot be disabled (2 in 2.4ghz, 2 in 5ghz) that add to wifi congestion/interference. Some say this is needed for tv functionality, but I will never subscribe to the tv service, so why can't i turn it off? Question Is there any other type of modem that can be used with the Helix 400mbit service? Ideally I'd be looking for something that is modem only. Don't care if I need to buy it, I just need it to work.7.3KViews0likes1CommentSamsung soundbar interfering with Wifi?
Hi. A friend of mind was told that his Samsung soundbar will interfere with the WiFi signal from his Helix gateway. I also have a Samsung sound bar and a regularly have my WiFi signal interrupted when using my iPad, computer and game console. Especially annoying when in an on-line meeting. Is their any merit to that? I followed every trouble shooting tip to try to alleviate this problem, but without success. That's my last guest as to what might explain these regular interruptions. Thanks.6.5KViews0likes3Comments
