GPS limitation – 911 localisation issue

Expertsécurité
Rédacteur

A new stage in the GPS system evolution is scheduled to take place April 6, 2019.

Please note that this change may affect the geolocation of 911 emergency calls made from certain phones. Further, this change may affect the geolocation function of certain applications.

The vast majority of affected device manufacturers have already provided updates to resolve this issue. We strongly advise you to ensure that your device is operating with the most recent Android update available.

Nevertheless, certain older devices may not have the required fixes, and therefore may provide users with erroneous GPS coordinates as of April 6, 2019.
